Didn’t he win footballer of the year?and perhaps he's a better footballer than he's given credit for.

Galassi has been on the Manchester City board since 2012 and is the chief executive of Piaggio Aero Industries. He was a guest on Sky Sport Italia this evening and asked specifically about Jorginho.
“He is one of the players we like, we never disguised that. However, De Laurentiis knows the value of his players and is very good at negotiations.
For all this "we need a younger Fernandinho" does anyone have any actual names?
Jorginho isn't, Fred isn't, Weigl isn't, Ndombele isn't.
It's not odd. They know we've got money. Same thing happens with Utd.It's odd how every chairman of a club who's player we are interested in suddenly becomes a skilled and canny negotiator.
Yeah in his 1st year at chelsea.. kante is good but like someone mentioned earlier he doesn’t have the footballing attributes we Are looking for. Plus doubt Chelsea would sell. Dinho for me is far more superior to anyone in his position and tbh IMO I don’t think we will ever find a replacement for him that will come anywhere close to what he does. He’s a captain a leader in some sense and his experience and knowledge helps everyone. Trying to find his replacement will be Peps most difficult task and will be interesting to see who he brings in for him. Me personally dihno has got a least another 2 great seasons left in himDidn’t he win footballer of the year?
Fred definitely has a lot of similarities, but he's possibly too far over the top in aggression for the PL and I don't know how he'd work as a pivot in a 3 rather than in a 2 at the base of a 5.Yes, Fred all day long.....even down to the aggressive way he plays (had 13 bookings and one red card in 19games last season) Perfect match for the way Fern plays and why I believe we were after him in Jan. In my opinion, we didnt change to Jorginho because he is better, it was more a change in transfer planning and we prioritised a Yaya replacement over cover for Fern....What we shouldnt forget is Fred is also a good passer of the ball so wouldnt have been much worse off in that area either...The only negative I can find is how tall he is but as Jorginho isnt known for winning headers, clearly that wasnt a big factor.
The report below is more about how he fits in with the rags but talks about his strengths, which compare very closely to Fern...I think Fern gives us alittle "steel" in the middle and that is important in the prem...Think Jorginho will be a great signing and fits the system just dont believe that he fills our biggest need.

"Fred is renowned as a box-to-box all-action central midfielder. He has previously described his role at Shakhtar as "the conductor" and has both the pace with the ball at his feet and the passing range to drive quick-fire counter-attacks and transitions from defence to attack.
With those skills set alongside his physicality and aggression - he picked up 13 bookings and one red card in 19 appearances last season - Fred would be a powerful presence in United's midfield. Able to contribute both defensively and in building attacks, he's been compared to Fernandinho and was reportedly a target for Manchester City in January"
Fred was Shakhtar's top tackler last season, averaging 2.9 challenges per game in the Champions League, and played in this holding position as part of a 4-2-3-1 formation in both of the Ukraine club's clashes with Manchester City.
So one dimensional that he was player of the year (both players & football writers). He is at the start of most Chelsea counter attacks so he certainly can pass. It also takes more than one player to defend against our passing play. One dimensional? - No chance.Kante is incredible at tackling, covering ground and being a nuisance. He’s also painfully one-dimensional. Every time he comes up against a true genius like Silva or Iniesta he looks utterly lost. I rate him highly but doubt he’d fit in here.

I think, for non-WC players, there is no rush for either them nor their clubs to sell hence the assumed delays. ADL is a weird one and wouldnt be surprised if this deal wont happen until July.
Brace yourselves lads / ladettes.
Maybe, however in recent transfers it's always the players terms that get sorted first and deals get stuck between the clubsI think it's simply because of the international friendlies - he was still playing for Italy only last night! Think we will see some more traction on this one in the next few days. It's the reason we haven't had any more movement on Mahrez as well IMO, as he has a game on Thursday with Algeria.
