Liverpool fans still deluded, been talking to them and reading forums and they really do believe this shit about comparing the tackle to a judo move, talking revenge on Ramos and wanting him dead or his career ended by a tackle, lawsuits, petitions etc.

They really been to look at themselves from the outside because all in all this is what happened:

Salah was injured in a 50/50 tackle
There is no planB for Salah not playing
Ramos caught Karius in the face when he was pushed by someone else
Karius isnt that good and Liv fans themselves have been saying it all season
Karius screwed up x2
Which is why the fans all turned on him when he screwed up

From the outside that's it, take it on the chin and improve the keeper and have a plan B!

No, not in Liverpool. In Livertpool its more like - it wasnt our fault, it was bad luck and dark arts.

How do you improve if you think the latter?

So let me get this right.

He was concussed after a slight blow to the head, which is why they lost.

Mane was harshly sent off because Ederson made the most of a full bloodied kick to his head, which is why they lost.

Sounds legit.

Yes, though you are missing the essential piece of information which is why these two things are not at all inconsistent with each other.

This is why those two separate incidents sit happily alongside each other and the dippers' position makes perfect logical sense: IT'S NEVER THEIR FAULT.

It's true. When they lost the final and poor midfield maestro Jimmy looked sad Walking past another trophy he didn't win wearing Liverpool Red, I went out and spent some money on beer and a nice bottle of wine. Turns out the wife needed the money for the kids the next day!! She wasn't happy, so when I told her my reasoning, she said I can't blame it on Liverpool.

Even she knows, and she doesn't follow football!!!

Liverpool fans are renown for turning up en masse without tickets, they brag about it like fuck, now on that day are you suggesting no one was there without a ticket? 96 innocents (they will have had tickets which is why they were in early and at the front) died due to the incompetence of the FA, Sheffield Wednesdays safety officer and the police PLUS any **** who went into that end without a fucking ticket, which will have been plenty of them.

Nope, I've not said that anywhere.

People who have heard months and months of evidence all agreed that fans were not to blame for the dangerous situation.

Funny they were not this vocal when we were screwed over by the officials in both games against them and Roma were also in the semi final. Its only because they came up against the serial cheaters Real who usually get the decisions when needed that the ref was neutral in the final.
Appointing a Spanish ref with history with Pep and us for our game is all you need to know about UEFA and we all saw the decisions in that game

I’ve had harder elbows from my 2 year old!talk about clutching at straws!!
All I can say is, Karma

Or as in Karius' case, clutching at fresh air

A jury having heard all the evidence unanimously agreed that fans behaviour didn't contribute to the dangerous situation, so yes it's a myth.

It shows how successful the media and establishment were in the cover up that even though it's been proven in court people still blame the fans.

If you know any forest fans who were there on that day, ask them for their accounts of the Liverpool fans that day...

Fans' behaviour, to the extent that it was relevant at all, made the job of the police, in the crush outside Leppings Lane turnstiles, harder than it needed to be. But it didn't cause the disaster any more than the sunny day that encouraged people to linger outside the stadium as kick off approached. I held those views then, I hold them now. I have never, since hearing the Taylor evidence unfold, offered any other interpretation in public or private

From one of the officer's who spread the rumours of drunken, ticketless fans in the first place.

I have it from a reliable source (who I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve) that the volume of supporters outside the ground just before KO was a factor, and that alcohol did play its part. How great a factor that was is debatable, but certainly a factor in the decision making process of many of the officers on duty at than match.

Because the police were already heavily under scrutiny (and rightly so), the best course of action at the enquiry was for the police to take it on the chin, as it would look considerably worse for them if they tried to apportion some of the blame to a minority of Liverpool fans for what happened (like they initially tried to).

The victims and the families of the victims paid the ultimate price in all this. The police eventually (rightly or wrongly) took all of the blame, and as far as that is concerned, the whole thing has been put to bed from a legal and financial stand point.

Fans being drunk and jibbing in was par for the course in the 80s. The police knew what to expect and they fucked it up. I have no problem accepting that Hillsbrough was not Liverpool fans fault.

Like another poster said, there are many many things that can be said about them. It’s unnecessary to raise hillsborough and it’s wrong to lay the blame at their door for it.

The problem I have is when nothing else is ever their fault either.

Reliable sources may like to ask themselves why it all went wrong in the '89 semi but not the '88 semi.
I was once chatting to the accountant at a company I was visiting, a Liverpool season ticket holder, who had been at that match, but had been in the seats ABOVE the terracing, and had witnessed it all. This was only 3 or 4 months after it happened, and he was still traumatised by the events that had taken place.

Interestingly, he told me that the previous year, when Livepool had been there for another semi, he had been standing in that central area. About 5 minutes into the match there was a surge forward and a lot of supporters were crushed against the barriers, which he was standing in front of. He vowed then that if they ever went to Hiilsborough again, he would go in the seats. Apparently , a lot of supporters were allowed in to the ground to alleviate the queueing outside! Fortunately, no one was badly hurt, but, obviously, lessons on crowd control were not learned, leading to those tragic events 12 months later.

Fair point. And I remember a similar incident at the spurs v wolves semi final in '81.

Firmino at the doctors today
Once his flu is confirmed UEFA will have no option but to replay it
Hang on, this is starting to look suspiciously like there is a UEFA conspiracy against Liverpool. If it is confirmed that Firmino has flu then I'd be very disappointed if they were required to play a replay. Surely they would just give Liverpool the trophy? They are the best team in Europe after all.

OED announce a couple of new dictionary entries for 2019:

RAMOSED (ra’mosed) Benefitting from a despicable act. I.e you see an old lady drop her scratch card, you pick it up and win a tenner.

KARIUSING (kar’e’using) Pathetic and shameless attempt to avoid responsibility I.e you fart and blame the dog.
