Wrong. It is not about what people pay for Nato but what they invest into their own military. Reason why Trump is concerned here is especially as he wants orders for the US industry...

If it is about financing the NATO - the US finances 21%, Germany 15%, France 11%, Britain 12%, Italy 9%

I think your math is off. My father served in the Korean War. He died last year at age 86.

18 to join. Age range 83-92 at the youngest end. Different days so it's safe to say that their parents were at least 16 at time of birth. 99-108 now, 97-106 during his campaign.

That's the parents of the youngest recruits.

and "many of them" spoke to him during his campaign? methinks another Donald fantasy.
 
The big developments in the pipe for the next week or so are charges for Cohen and any counter move or preemptive move by Trump. Cohen has fired his lawyers indicating he will co-operate with prosecutors. This move could force Trump into offering a pardon. If he does this presents difficulties as the crimes would have to be detailed and Cohen would have to accept guilt and also waive his right to using the 5th. If he doesn't Pardon him then Muller gets another star witness.

Manafort's trial is also about a month away - again the same issue with Pardons apply. If Trump offers two Pardons on each of these and all the crimes are disclosed then he effectively confirms the criminal activity ongoing around his campaign and both Manafort and Cohen will have waived their right to pleading the 5th.

This leads on to Trumps own crimes and is the reason Trump floated the idea of being above the law / able to pardon himself. Muller is building a stock pile of co-operative witnesses, he already has a number who have flipped - the question is how many will testify to his crimes and how senior they are, the best it could get for Trump at this stage is 3/4 campaign staff testify against him and Cohen & Manafort don't but they don't having accepted pardons for similar crimes to Trump.

Pres Sec Sanders and her deputy are rumored to be considering quitting. Given the above is that any surprise. The Korea summit was a great distraction but that has run it's course now, expect some more fireworks to distract from the real story.

For Trump to pardon someone they have to be convicted first. If he pardons either Cohen or Manafort, then this will strengthen the case for obstruction of Justice against Trump. For these pardons to be effective they would had to have been agreed prior to their trials in order to buy their silence and protect Trump and his cohorts (Don Jr/Ivanka/Cushner & others).

The tricky part will be proving that both Cohen and Manafort withheld evidence on purpose to protect Trump on the promise of a pardon. That is of course unless Muller has statements from Cohen and Manafort already which implicate Trump, or the evidence from the documents ceased from Cohen's offices is so damning that it doesn't matter what either say in court.

Muller also knows that Trump can't negotiate pardons for everyone as he doesn't know who may have given evidence against him already. Also, the Special Council has the power to offer immunity from prosecution in return for evidence, so Trump will have no room for manoeuvre here. I bet there was a queue around the block to give evidence, as the list of people he has p**sed off in his life must be huge.
