Paedophilia within the game/City launch redress scheme

Another Daniel Taylor story - first published on Saturday evening but I've only just seen it. Crewe are to be excluded from the Northwest Football Awards after the club's decision not to hold an investigation into Barry Bennell's time at the club: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...st-football-awards?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Tweet

The same story also states that: the club's local MP is calling on them to reconsider their stance; the local council is likely to a motion to “question the reasonableness” of the club's actions; and Gordon Taylor has spoken out against Crewe (contrasting their actions with those of City). I know Taylor is a rather tarnished figure these days, but I think he has this one right.

Chelsea have become the first club to issue a payout to an alleged victim since the full extent of football’s sex abuse scandal was exposed: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/may/17/chelsea-payout-sexual-abuse-victim

However, Taylor has tweeted in critical terms about the secrecy of the payout. He's also said that other clubs will follow Chelsea in due course and specifically named MCFC (it would be a big surprise if we aren't making payouts in due course).

Good to see the club are going to be compensating Bennell’s victims and will apologise formally for his actions:

Very glad to see the club doing the right thing. They just need to make sure of carry thru. No excuses.
