This has to be the biggest opportunity for our academy players to impress Pep. Most of our first team players are on their holiday or at the world cup. Perfect time for some of the younger players to make their mark.

Ah yes there is, sorry missed that.
Foden and I think Bolton are due to report to England U19 next week too. If they make it to the final of the championship in Finland, they'll be missing till July 19th.
So looking at that above squad, we have 4 keepers and 15 outfield players. Half the keepers might move on (Hart and Bravo), and 5 outfield players could be gone (Denayer, Zinchenko and Roberts).. Facing Dortmund with about 12 players across 1st team and EDS is testing.

Just read that Gundogan is due back third week of July, with last-16 exiters Bernardo Silva (Portugal), David Silva (Spain), Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi (both Argentina) a week later.

Let's be under no illusions they are a tough side to play against for us. Keita and Fabinho played v Chester and I have to say Keita looks a very good signing. They had 14 players with PL games under their belts and we might be lucky to field 4/5 by the time the fixture comes round. We simply use the match as a runout for youngsters and to get a handful fit for beginning of season. We'll possibly lose all 3 friendlies but once the big hitters are back we'll motor.
