I keep hearing those asking why we need another attacking player (heard such musings on this signing during the Football Weekly pod the other day - as quite a few English analysts miss the mark with us regularly for whatever reason).

But, Hello?? Anyone who watches us regularly knows we don't finish enough chances that we should, even if it was improved upon from the season prior.

We wanted Alexis for this exact reason, and targeted Mahrez as a viable plan B.

Having another credible finisher to play in the front 3 could really make a difference when its needed. I think this will be a massive signing for us.

I quite like the idea of playing Sterling on the left and Mahrez on the right so that both of them can cut inside with Mendy and Walker behind them bombing down the touchlines giving the width. put Bernardo and KDB behind Sane through the middle and the jobs a good un.
 
So you got him now. Gutted but still genuinely happy for him as I always thought he deserved his move. I think he'll do well here and will certainly watch you in the UCL. Good luck for the next season, well for 36 games...
 
Next years POTY at City. But probably won't be the POTY,despute us winning the league and CL double

It was all I was hearing pre world cup, now we're gonna have a fully rested Sane and Mahrez wide. Mendy and Delph will be fine. Ederson, fine. Laporte, fresh.

We had more players at the thing than anyone and yet we'll hit the ground running. Adding Mahrez just hammers it home.

What a signing this will turn out to be. A steal at that price really.

In terms of attackers in our squad he is 2nd only to Aguero. Yes I said it. He will improve even further.

In his prime and hungry to win trophies, can’t wait to see him play.

That centre mid is going to be very important this season mate...We half way there after this signing.....hopefully the few quid saved on the Mahrez deal, might help us get Jorginho over the line!;) Great signing and excellent value at 60mil in this market.

Steve Walsh who went to Everton. We seem to recruit very well but unfortunately due to our manager Merry-go-round new players aren’t given time to settle and are moved on.

Such as:

Ahmed Musa.
Kramaric
Slimani.

Having said that we have players such as Maguire whose stock is going to rise along with N’didi, Maguire, Perreira and hopefully Maddison.

We’re in good shape and about to invest £100m in a new training facility along with announcing an extension (part 1) to the stadium to take capacity to 40-45,000, so the pragmatist in me sees the Riyad money pay for the training ground.

I am not bitter one bit, of course I wished he would stay with us but realistically we have seen him be brilliant for us but it is time for him to move on and progress his career, hopefully in the same vein as Kante and not Drinkwater.
