Dinho is fine for another season,we managed without him for 5 games or so,if there is one thing we can do now is adapt, not ideal maybe but not a diasterPersonally think it’s a huge mistake to not get a DM this summer

That's fair. Needs must as they say.I know your right it's my preference too. But now and then in addition to what you have suggested I prefer more robust qualities against certain teams. Ie/ Burnley away.
Please tell me your not trying to compare kantes core strength to fodens. Please. One is a man the other is a boy. There are numerous reasons why no club in Europe would play a boy that age in that position. Physical development being one of them.
I have a suspicion this Jorginho development is going to lead to Pep and Gundogan having a sit-down and long discussion over whether Gundogan has the discipline to do what Pep wants and needs out of his defensive midfielders. We can't spend 50 million on a player for a couple of games a season,we have shown we don't need bruisers in the team to get to 100pts,the way we play we don't need someone like that
No, he's been too busy going between departures and arrivals in Napoli, Milan and Gatwick airports while simultaneously doing Chelsea medicals (plural).Has anyone actually seen a picture of joggingho since Milan?
I think that can work out well for everyone. Gundogan doesn't have to worry about when he's going to play and has a more concrete idea of what his role will be. If he gets pulled back to play DM, then Foden and Diaz can get more playing time. If something happens to Silva or de Bruyne, Gundogan can move forward and Delph can take the DM role.I have a suspicion this Jorginho development is going to lead to Pep and Gundogan having a sit-down and long discussion over whether Gundogan has the discipline to do what Pep wants and needs out of his defensive midfielders.
I think last season he was scared of getting another injury,i have faith he can get over that and get stuck in when needs beI have a suspicion this Jorginho development is going to lead to Pep and Gundogan having a sit-down and long discussion over whether Gundogan has the discipline to do what Pep wants and needs out of his defensive midfielders.
Who mentioned bruisers? Please try to ask me what I mean before making assumption s. I would be happy with a fern clone, someone who strikes a balance between what you have advocated but is also adept at cutting off counters and quick transitions. We can't spend 50 million on a player for a couple of games a season,we have shown we don't need bruisers in the team to get to 100pts,the way we play we don't need someone like that
Ok. I know we're your from.I was comparing their physic as you seem to be ruling him out on that basis.
Claude Makélélé wasn't bad either, smaller and lighter as well.
Not suggesting Pep will play Foden there but if he did, physic won't be an issue.
So Delph can cover fernandinho along with the injury prone gundogan? Why LB cover, we have Delph & Mendy
We still don't need a clone of dinho,he has plenty left to give, pep will sort it out with the squad we have for next season if he is outWho mentioned bruisers? Discipline you mean ability?I have a suspicion this Jorginho development is going to lead to Pep and Gundogan having a sit-down and long discussion over whether Gundogan has the discipline to do what Pep wants and needs out of his defensive midfielders.
Definitely keep Zinchenko, he's quality. Can play anywhere, great attitude, low wages, loved by the fans. Would be silly to sell him, unless it's for very good money (upwards of 20mil).So Delph can cover fernandinho along with the injury prone gundogan?
Unless you're happy to leave that valuable squad space unfilled, and let a versatile player leave.
If Zinchenko stays, he gives us an extra option in midfield, assuming Gundogan moves deeper. He also gives extra cover at left back, in the event of Delph or mendyly getting injured or Delph needing to cover dinho.
I would only sell if he couldn't get into the squad, but now he clearly can.
He can't play anywhere,he is a AM who just about covered LB,we can't keep him and not play him in his correct position,it's not fair to the lad reallyDefinitely keep Zinchenko, he's quality. Yeh, watched him closely, he did seem tentative in the tackle. That's the key II think last season he was scared of getting another injury,i have faith he can get over that and get stuck in when needs be
I know what your saying but what it doesn't acknowledge is that we smashed the league with fern playing the majority of those prem matches. We can't understate the impact his selfless role had on that accumulation of those points. He's my favourite player, but like the rest of are key players, he is going to need to be rotated. It's if and when he is rotated or god forbid injured I'm suggesting a player similiar to fern would be ideal, because I think we would miss his selfless work which laid the platform for us being able to accrue that's point total. Pep said himself that if he could he would have 10 ferns. That sort of praise I think reflects the value pep has on his contribution to team tactics, function and his own footballing philosophy. We still don't need a clone of dinho,he has plenty left to give, pep will sort it out with the squad we have for next season if he is out
+1. Too much lack of faith from some posters on here. Given that City have not budged from their original offer, even in the face of developments over the last few days, it would seem Jorginho was a ‘would like’ and not a ‘must have’.
