Jorginho

Well to get some points right:

I hope most here agree Fern is still able to play some good part of the next season as DM.
Last season: 48 matches played (of a total 57), 3,990 minutes (so 83 mins on average).

We are only talking about cover in some matches. And certainly Gundogan can do that job.
And as a worst case we would be able to find another one in our current squad.

Remains the fact that we need a long term cover or replacement for DM who gets enough time to fit in.

Not more, not less.

And my dear Jorginho, could you please tell us want you want? I mean us BMers.

Mendy played as a wingback in a 3-5-2 before he tore his ACL. Up the pitch as you described.
End of the season he came in as a LB like for like in a back 4 for 15 mins each, playing much deeper. Both is possible.
If he plays 30 yards further up in a back 4 we will have to cover that huge hole as a team, a DM alone is not able to.

Pep will be aware I guess.

I'm sure Pep will have a plan when Dinho isn't playing. We did play a few games with Gundogan instead of Dinho. I do understand he's not the same defensively, but there are options. KDB could play slightly further back with Gundogan and maybe have Delph be the inverted LB instead of Mendy. Now that we have Mahrez he can help break down defences and we may not have to rely totally on KDB's creativity and crosses, thus having him sit back a bit further.

Kdb has to play further forward hes wasted deeper.

If Jorginho told us so we wouldn't have stepped into negotiations.

And if you were right he was not the right man for City anyway. Some corones needed to join the market leader.

...
If all of a sudden Gundogan wouldn't be good enough against most domestic teams as a DM we are fucked anyway or has to leave today.
But he is.
And if it was a risk combining Gundogan and Mendy @domalino Mendy should have a good tactical lesson as well.

I for my part got over Jorginho and can't wait for the pic when him and his agent find out Chelsea don't play CL next season ;-)
He wasts to play in the Premier League.
As I understand it Sarri is a bonus and has asked Jorgingho to play for him.

Understood, but the point is that if Dinho is not available and we need to play Gundogan he would have a hard time covering the space defensively so you need solutions to help him out. It's just an example that on now that we have Mahrez there are options if we don't get a Jorghino replacement. I trust Pep to figure out the balance.

It does seem a bit odd that we were willing to pay 50m for Sterling three years ago, 50m for Stones two years ago, 57m for Laporte in January but we weren't willing to pay 58m for Jorginho, a player who Pep clearly likes, who wanted to come here and for a position we need to strengthen in. I understand the principle of only signing players who are 100% committed to City but it could see us lose out on a lot of key targets as we've already witnessed with Alves, Sanchez and now Jorginho. It's admirable but is it realistic?

Having said that, I'm confident that Pep and the club will have a plan. Whether that's an alternative to Jorginho or being creative with the players we already have.

Jorgingho hasn't signed for Chelsea yet.
My Chelsea supporting work colleague says it probably won't be till Tuesday or Wednesday next week. A lot is still to be sorted out INCLUDING A MEDICAL (the 5th or 6th). Indeed he was quite candid this morning saying it still may actually not happen as Jorginho is only agreeing to go to Chelsea because Sarri is becomming Chelsea manager and wants certain guarantees.
Normally fairly accurate in his Chelsea ITK ness.

Thought it was done and dusted mate. But apparently not

Fernandinho is a problem.Good though he is (and fit though he is) father time is tapping him on the shoulder. He needs to play less games in a season to stay fit.
Against the gangenpress he is found wanting. Not just Fern here the whole team struggles. A single pivot does not work under such circumstances.
The solution?
Another player to replace YaYa who can carry out Fernandinho's duties thus allowing City to play a double pivot when required.

Its done and dusted. Just the timing.
He wont join Chelsea till Sarri is officially the manager and he wanted the guarantees in place (whatever they are - probably down to to Sarri's security of tenure as Chelsea manager).

its unbelievable to consider if we had got a profit on our £8 million outlay last summer very few would have shed a tear Full marks to Fabian and PEP wonder if pep can help Delph"s missus she has a great engine on her ( according to Mr Delph) Seriously i am sure that lad will give it a go such as his desire to play for us. but i feel that this position requires a specialist a 23-24 yr old YAYA who doesnt like birthday cakes doesnt have a prick for an agent and his feet dont enter his mouth whilst talking Finally were we linked with the guy from Nice who went to Fulham?

Gazumped by Chelski and snubbed by the player. It isn't the end of the world. But it is probably the end of this thread.
This thread ended 2 weeks ago when the agent never got the deal done.

We must have met in London When they wanted more cash & more cash for Jorginio 1st club Verona yet we never got the deal over line when who knows we could have coughed up there & then.

Player stayed away & agent fucked off back to Turkey or wherever he went.

Doesn't look great for a team that pissed all over everyone's chips last season I know money talks but do we have that big big club stature yet????

We are probably better off without him,as he’s 100% guaranteed to start for Chelsea, but not so much for us maybe that put doubts in his head and he doesn’t have the fight in him to battle for a place in the team, better off without ..edit if we really wanted him we would have had this done it was never about extra money for me,he had doubts imo added with the fact he got wind of sarri going to Chelsea and took the easier option..
