Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

People quickly turning on Raheem. He's not asking to be top earner. He's probably knowing his next contract will be improved by City and his agent will know as a 23 year old, signing a 5 year deal, it'll be the biggest of his career so worth holding out for as much as possible. Once he loses speed in his later years the less effective his game is. The only question is would anyone offer him more? Chelsea could. But I think Raz fancies abroad eventually.

And if his finishing doesn't improve ? What then ? Once his pace goes, which it will,he's finished, people need to start understanding this, but it seems a long way off for some to even consider that happening,if he does go,nobody will give a shit in a few months

What a load of shite. His game is way more than his pace. If you can't see that then maybe try Rugby.

How many goals does he need to score in a season before you consider his finishing improved? Would 24 do, or does it need to be over 30?

Wouldn't £250k a week make him top earner at City?

Should and could have had 30 plus last season, easily, and like the thread is about his contract, and the gamble of having a successful WC to get a huge increase has backfired, but to be fair he won't be the only player whose just been at the WC waiting for a new improved deal will be left wondering what if as well.........

Oh look a Sterling thread, I'll just pop in and...Oh yeah, of course @meeesh is slagging him off again, still trying to justify the time he said he'd be the biggest flop since Steve Daley and would be at a club no better than Everton by now. Or the time he said he hated Sterling and always would because of the way he runs.

Can't imagine Sterling wants to really leave City and after last season he deserves a pay rise. Certainly not the finished article and he can improve his finishing.

Like to think we could meet halfway maybe 210k

Isn't it past your bedtime ffs,no doubt another happy clapper who was very satisfied and proud to have him as a City player during that WC

Why wouldn't I be proud to have 3 City players, Sterling being one of them, integral to and starting every game of Englands most successful world cup run in 30 years?

You'd have to be pretty weird to not enjoy that.

I'll tell you why,I've just had 11 nights on a Greek island, with the added bonus of the WC being on whilst there,in a superb bar, really good atmosphere and all that.

So there I am in a City polo shirt, the Sweden game, that's a City polo, not England, but I'm there supporting England,as I'm English, but always a club before country man,and if I had a Euro for every **** who walked past me,and said things like fuck me mate, have a word with Sterling will ya,or things like fuck me Sterling this,Sterling that, but I just smiled and rubbed my City badge, but had to sit and defend him,but all as I could do was just shake my head, and even the Croatia game comments were made.

Fucking hard not to agree, but deep down I knew they were right

I think clubs look at their club form not their international form

Sterlings worldwide profile would be part of any deal. A sensational world cup would have made him a worldwide household name, would have massively increased his marketing potential and also piqued the interest of a few directors of football on the continent with his contract running down.

Don't honestly think he has a strong hand to play if he fancies pushing the Club on this.

If I were Sterling or his agent I'd wait until Christmas. If he starts the season like he did last summer, he'll have 15-20 goals, probably including some more big point winning goals and if it looks like 25 goals a season is the new normal and not an exceptional return in an exceptional season for the club, he'd definitely have better leverage.

At the end of the day this is going to be his big contract. He'll be 24 in December and new deal will take him to 29. £25k a week extra will turn into 6 or 7 million over the length of the contract so it matters. A lot.

So basically some know-nought twats who are too stupid to see the massive contributions he makes to England without scoring (or presumably didn't see him score a hatful of goals as a starter in the most dominant season in English football history) wound you up in a fucking greek pub, and you're so thin skinned you're now using that as ammunition to keep up this campaign against Sterling into it's 3rd year, despite how you get proven wrong time and time again.

Great, you now hate him because some people were mean to you in a pub.

I mean we already knew you were a fucking joke when you said you hated him because of the way he runs, but thanks for the extra reminder,
