In all fairness that was more City on the day we were taken over trying to hijack the move. Still the best transfer deadline day ever! Piscan must still have nightmares of that day when he realised we were pumping up the volumeTheir transfer policy (if you can call it that) is baffling. That whole let's see who City are interested in and offer more money seemed to start with Piscan when he picked up Berbatov from the Airport. That turned out well for us in the end as it happens cos he wasn't much cop for them.
Possibly,as probably like you,i had a fondness for him when he was at Chelsea(Post Porto) and i always looked forward to listening to him.The Chelsea supporters and players adored him during that period.
Now,he's lost the magic and developed into a complete prick. He needs a decent break and maybe come back as Portugal boss as a wind down.
The thing is, were Mourinho to go, who on earth could United bring in? As attractive a club as it is for pretty much any manager (and don't kid yourself, it absolutely is one of the plum football jobs), right now it's looking like a shredder of reputations. There'd need to be a hell of a lot of guarantees for the top guys to take it. Whatever people might think of Mourinho, their transfer strategy is a mess; it's a combination of watching who City are interested in and offer more money, and buy up the latest shiny toy.
Oh fuck it, give it Giggsy till the end of the season.

Aw bless little jamie, probably wrote this whilst wearing his Phil Jones pyjamas and wrapped up in his Jesse lingard Muppets special duvet.
This geezer won't have any of it that jose is in meltdown mode.

Indeed. He was fun. Now he's not.
Not sure about that. I enjoy his meltdowns now that he is at United. Even with all his mind games, I still don't hate him, forever indebted for that Anfield victory after Liverpool won the title.
I'm in two minds here.
I want him to stay, because is stinking the place out with his attitude and anti-football, but I also wouldn't mind if he went because the meltdown on Sad Cafe would be epic.
They're fucked. They need to break down this club and start over. And I mean the WHOLE club. Players, field management and office management. But they can't, and they won't. They can't start over. Because they're a public company. Because they need to win a lot to keep fans interested. Because they need money. So what they'll do is turn into Arsenal -- happy to "challenge", happy with top 4. The Ferguson knowledge/power vacuum remains unfilled, and will remain unfilled.
The worst thing that can happen to City re: them isn't Mourinho leaving, it's the Glazers selling to an oligarch type. That's not happening soon, IMO.
They are Xerox. They are IBM. They are a 1970s American automaker.
Ergo, back to point 1: they're fucked.
They wouldnt accept the season or 2 without trophies it would take to actually challenge for the title. They need a young manager with a real identity of how he has his team playing.
Pochetino seems ideal but he seems quite happy at Tottenham
Oh sure. I'll qualify it then: he was fun on his merits, and now it's fun watching him - how's that?
