My Mrs and 2 lads were there for a few days at the start of April staying at an airbnb.They had a good time, food excellent.She said all the men were ugly but shes spoilt.

She also said that public transport is not very good if you are using it as a base so maybe hire a car?
 
Been once and loved it, will be going back. Stayed in an Airbnb near Sibenik, nice little village called Zablaće.

Highly recommend Croatia.

At happy hour a nice 175ml glass of Merlot is €1, which in a 4 star hotel, is not bad I think. A bottle is about a fiver.

Pula, down the coast maybe 20 miles is nice too, and very cheap.

I recently read that hotel Lone that you mentioned is the best hotel in Croatia... Btw, is Rovinj suitable for kids? I was looking at it but wasn’t sure. Anyone else recommend any decent family places/resorts in Croatia?

The Lone is a lovely hotel for sure, and very kid friendly.

You see loads and loads of families in and around Rovinj with young kids. There's loads of cycle tracks as well which the kids love bombing around on. Maistra also have the Amarin hotel, which is very child friendly.

They are all wonderful hotels and it's a great place to visit. The Eden, Lone or Amarin are the best for families.

But incidentally, in terms of "best hotel in Croatia", then the Monte Mulini next door is fabulous (and ££££ to go with it!) And the new hotel they are building next to that - the Grand Park Hotel is just WOW (and £££££££££!)

Going to Dubrovnik in a couple of weeks, can’t wait. Never been before so any recommendations on what to do/see would be much appreciated. Also, going to be there for the Wolves game so anyone know where’s good to watch football there, preferably near the old town?

Not been to Dubrovnik, we went to Zadar. I definitely recommend visiting at least one of their beautifully stunning national parks.(Google them) We went white water rafting and swam in crystal clear pools below waterfalls. I hired a car and got about easily on good uncrowded roads. Never had a bad meal anywhere, very similar to Italian food being as it's opposite there. Not touristy and very reasonably priced. Croatia is definitely a place I'll go back to.
 
Daughter has just come back from Dubrovnik.
She said it was great.
But the beer is nearly £5 a pint.
 
Following graduation, my daughter is on a month long world tour of Europe
She left Croatia the other day after spending time in Plitvice Lakes national park (google it), Zagreb and Split

Her and her friend had a ball of a time in the National park. As @bluemoon risin' has said, white water rafting, jumping off waterfalls, hiking and a long kayak trip were all fantastic
She said Zagreb was ace, but Split was horrible
