Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Quick guys, better sell this 23 year old ASAP before his legs go.

Even if you're stupid enough to think his only asset is pace, thinking a pace merchant needs to be sold at 23 before his pace is gone is beyond stupid.

And there you go right on cue,it's so easy, you have recently, and quite rightly kept your mouth shut,to other posters comments, just the odd like here and there, but as soon as I say out you are in,feet first.

I don't want to make this about me and you,but it is evident now that you react to everything I post,so let's hear your reasons why you do this statto.

I would suggest that you ignore me,as it isn't fair that I react and get banned from the thread once I react to you trying to belittle my posts.

It's as though you are sat there, probably are actually, waiting to pounce for the minute I say out,and to be honest with you lad,it's very boring, and you have obviously nothing better to do,but keep at it if you wish,I'll never back down from morons like you.

Now talking about the word stupid,as you use quite regulary,go back to the bedroom and stare at the picture of Sterling you have on the wall, and tell him again that he's the best.

In fairness to Chicago who disputed to me whether Sterling elite, in all honesty he is probably right, sterling ain't quite hazard or Suarez even, but fuck me he ain't far behind. In a year or two as he continues to develop, possibly much more of us blues will realise just how good this kid is and and lucky we are to have him. Me personally whilst I don't think there is anything wrong with him technically, I acknowledge that Bernardo is arguably better than him from a technical point of view. But this does not mean that sterling is any slouch in this regard. Where sterling excels for me probably more than most others in the team is his intelligence. When to go when to stay. If you watch the position s he picks up on the field he is at times impossible to mark and moreover the space he creates for Silva, debruyne etc is criminally overlooked. Top player and will get better.
Yes i get what you mean about him being on Hazards level and Bernardo being technically better, but like you say, Sterling brings something that no other player in our squad gives us and we saw that repeatedly last season and again this season already. His movement and intelligence in getting into dangerous areas is as good as anyone. I agree with peope about his finishing and that is one area of his game that just doesn't come naturally to him. It will cost us in games (ohhh the derby will haunt me forever), but more often than not we will thanful to have him.

I do not agree with that bit but the rest of his post was more than reasonable. Why not debate rather than ridicule and insult.

It's only pure bullshit to you mate as you are a "Raheem protector",that is fine, each see a game and players abilities differently,to me the truth has been seen a lot more in recent games, with Sterling, quite rightly, dropped, and that is the truth,no doubt some will say he's had a knock, and not fully fit,now that is pure bullshit imo,if not fit he wouldn't be on the bench,he's gonna be the biggest money flop since Steve Daley at our club, mark my words

I'm sick to death of people defending him so much, when he fails to deliver when given a chance,I'll answer the question what you have asked the defence gang................We'd get about 25m if he was to go tomorrow, that is because he gets in the England squad,Everton,Southampton in this country would be only the top teams that would take him though,as long as it was paid in installments/performance related, fuck me we would owe them !

Isn't it past your bedtime ffs,no doubt another happy clapper who was very satisfied and proud to have him as a City player during that WC

I'll tell you why,I've just had 11 nights on a Greek island, with the added bonus of the WC being on whilst there,in a superb bar, really good atmosphere and all that.

So there I am in a City polo shirt, the Sweden game, that's a City polo, not England, but I'm there supporting England,as I'm English, but always a club before country man,and if I had a Euro for every **** who walked past me,and said things like fuck me mate, have a word with Sterling will ya,or things like fuck me Sterling this,Sterling that, but I just smiled and rubbed my City badge, but had to sit and defend him,but all as I could do was just shake my head, and even the Croatia game comments were made.

Fucking hard not to agree, but deep down I knew they were right

I've really tried mate,I swear I have,I'm not a boo boy or shouting abuse, although a lot do around me,but his misses hurt, the way he runs hurts,he is not a great footballer, and we are building a great team,if he stays on,then I'll try again next season for him to convince me again, but I'm pretty convinced Bernardo will see him ousted a lot next season

If it were a normal, rational poster, I would love to engage in debate, it's what I come to a City forum for, to talk about players, but meeesh isn't a noraml poster. He's someone who has shown themselves time and time again to be not worthy of engaging with seriously in all matters involving Sterling.

Dozens of posters have tried, and failed, to engage in reasoned debate with him on this topic over the past 2 years, but it's not possible. The guy has a pathological hatred of Sterling, because of the way he runs among other things, and will never like him.

So no, I choose not to waste time debating him, but will certainly mock him whenever he sticks his head above the parapet to make a fool of himself once more, because I think when one poster dedicates themselves to spouting off hate about one of our players, it shouldn't go unchallenged.

With you all the way brother on everything you've said.

If sterling ain't wo
I'm not his biggest fan, never have been,as plenty know on here, but would I like him to stay....yes

Would I be arsed if he left......no

However, the point of this thread is nothing to do with actual performances week in week out,it's about him (allegedly) wanting pay on a par with some of our world class players we are blessed to have.

If you can look yourself in the mirror and convince yourself that Sterling IS world class, then you have every right to argue he should be paid what he wants, but the other side of the fence,me and countless others, don't believe he is,and therefore shouldn't be.

From a business side of things, the time to sell is now,if that's what it comes to,because once his pace has gone,he's finished.

That is what I've been saying all along about him really, but we do have other and arguably better options available to us now as well, which again, some seem to disagree with.
If sterling ain't world class it does not explain why many of the world class players in are team, league and Europe got no where near his stats from last season. He's world class, he's just yet to evudence it over a consistent period of time, but in saying that all the evidence suggests that he right in the middle of his upward curve right now. In these hyperbolic days of media hype if Pogba can be regarded as world class whilst not regularly producing, it makes no sense not to acknowledge Sterling as such, when he has been producing ever since Pogba hit these shores.

People think because sterling misses a few chances he ain’t world class so you saying for example Messi and Ronaldo never miss a chance?

Apologies in advance mate as your clearly on the money, but you have got me giggling like a mad man with the post history you've put out above. It's not only that your clearly right it's the way youve set out the evidence and moreover the actual content of the emails. Funniest thing I've read in ages I swear to god.. Thankyou fella. Thankyou

But you continue to do so,engage that is,you are a very sad, lonely individual with nothing better to do,weird as fuck

Problem with Sterling is he constantly misses incredibly easy chances. If he could ever sort that part of his game out he could become a top 5 player in the world. The only thing that lets him down tbh. His shooting from distance seemed to have improved though which is a good sign.

Not sure you're one to be talking about weird, sad and lonely when you've confessed to being hurt by the way a football player runs.

Well let’s see this season if he misses these easy chances not had one yet

Oh and by the way,as I attend the matches, and have a season ticket as I have for many years,I'm more entitled to say what I want about any individual I pay my money to see, unlike yourself who relies on tv and match reports to get an even better understanding of what is actually going on,a bit more food for thought with you.

As for a debate, you don't know how to handle a debate lad, because when you lose a debate,as you do a lot, you'll throw some meaningless stat into the equation, which makes it look like you have done research, very clever, but too old to fall for it me

You are definitely entitled to say what you want about any player, I've never thought or said otherwise, and the other side of that coin is that others are free to point out how stupid the things you say are.

If you can't take that, then stop saying stupid things.

I would agree with this but also add that I dont think he will ever overcome this issue. Yes he is young, but in terms of experience he isn't and I cannot see Pep improving this aspect of his game. Yes, we all hope he could get that particular monkey off his back, but until he does imo he doesn't warrant a WC tag.

Go and get yourself a bird or boyfriend,(if that's your preference) to see that everything is not just black and white in life, you need to go out and get some fresh air instead of looking at the pictures of Sterling on the walls at home all day, then waiting for the alarm to go off on your laptop to see that I've posted, like I say, weird as fuck

The one glimmer of hope is I think David Silva has improved his finishing during the time at the club and Sterling does have the commitment to
Improve this side of his game.

It also appears from the All or Nothing doc it is something the likes of Arteta are working on with him.

Clearly there is a lot more history to this than I am aware of, so my apologies for chucking in my opinion without knowing all the facts.

Not going to make a further arse of myself by commenting any further on what Meesh has wrote as one thing I have learnt is make sure your aware of all the facts before commenting.

I don't think that's the only reason that people don't rate him as being world class.

I happen to think he is a very good player who had impressive stats last season but individually I don't think he's anywhere near world class.

How I see Sterling as a player is he's fast, his movement is excellent, he's good in tight spaces, an ok dribbler but his shooting technique still needs some work.

There are countless examples around Europe of players who fit this description who are not considered world class. I think that term is thrown around way too easily these days and people are getting a bit carried away because of two goals which are out of character for him bar Southampton last season.

In my humble opinion, Real Madrid would not be willing to pay 70 million plus for Sterling on top of big wages and the only way they'd take him is if he runs down his contract and they take him on a free.

Again, I think he's a very good player who has benefited hugely from Pep coming to City and should stay here if he wants to keep developing.

Im sure he is probably his own biggest critic on this and is getting as much help as poss from Pep and Arteta et al, I just simply think that after being at the top table for so long, he shouldn't be having the yips in front of goal and will struggle to eradicate this now.
