Katie Hopkins on verge of bankrupcy

I regards this as a victory over the uncaring hard right - she embodies the type who thinks they are always right and never wrong and can say what they bloody well like - her comeuppance is somewhat overdue but is welcomed to the event with open arms.

Unfortunately she isn't going to end up living under a bridge. Expect more nonsense to try and stay relevant.
I think she's got a job with something rightwing radio in US or Canada.. one way of keeping money out of the UK...and her IVA creditors.

Her IVA would have required her to declare all her assets, there is obvious scope to lie if you have assets overseas. An IVA is also structured so you can continue to function, have a job and pay of a % of your debts going forward over a set period of time. So she will be able to keep a % of her earnings. She wont go away but she has lost everything, unless she has committed fraud. Given her work is basically high profile it would be pretty easy to gauge if the declared income matches what she appears to do...

She' got to repay 100k in legal fees according to the papers. Doesn't seem much to 'lose everything' over, as is the impression.

You don't enter an IVA unless you can't pay. If she could have sold up her house and paid the bill then why the IVA. Something bigger going on than £100k.

Hence my curiosity. The i says 24k damages, 106k legal fees. That doesn't seem likely to be enough to matter to her.
