Cheeky ****,his players got injured tackling ours,i think he will instruct them to kick the shit out of us,we need to move the ball quickly and make them dizzy, hopefully vinny and nico will start and give them some of their own medicine

I cannot remember the challenge, but Warnock said he didn't get a yellow and a foul wasn't given

Gundo’s defensive side needs huge improvement. So playing him in that position is risky .

I'm probably not the best person to get into this conversation with as even though he's not perfect, I'm pretty comfortable with Gundogan playing there in games like this and when I watch him I think he's bit more tenacious and better in the press than some people give him credit for. I expect us to have a lot of the ball in this game and i think he's great at helping us to control the tempo and set forward plays going. Fernandinho looks a bit jaded to me at the moment so if it's a choice between a jaded Fernandinho and Gundogan then I'd choose the latter. Would quite like to try Delph out there at some point too but maybe not tomorrow.

If Mendy or Sane start we'll win.
If neither do and pep decides we need no width for some unfathomable reason we'll blow it.

If Gundogan starts I may hurt myself.

Main threat will be counters and set pieces so I'd be tempted to play Kompany if he is fit because of how dominant he is in the air compared to Stones.

Sergio has to start, Gabriel has been playing like the Gundogan of our forward line. Plenty of touches but no penetration and no creation.

The 2 Silva's operating centrally in the tight spaces.
Mahrez still hasn't shown enough to start.

I was going to come on here and pretty much make these exact points and you've saved me the trouble.

I reckon he might play Otamendi and Kompany for the physicality.

This has to be the team, surely? It's very hard to pick a Guradiola side, but I think this game it pretty much picks itself.
I can't see him leaving Stones out personally, he had a break last weekend. If Otamendi doesn't play he will wonder what he has to do after last week, when he played very well. As you say its almost impossible to pick a Pep team, I just hope Gundogan doesn't start.

He was third best player last weekend, behind Bernardo and Delph. He was shite midweek because he was covering for a statue.

Well I think this is a fairly well trodden argument which can be had across four different threads in here. I like Gundogan and I'd play him on Saturday, in a different starting 11 from the one midweek. It's obviously not that ridiculous an opinion to hold as the manager seems to like him too.

I'm not denying that Delph was awful against Lyon. But this feels like the kind of game he'll thrive in. No reason not to start him.

I fear for our players safety with Neil wanker in charge. No doubt he'll be instructing his players to stop us any way they can. His post game interview last season condoning their physical challenges was tantamount to thuggery, any repeat of that and he should be struck off as a manager by the FA.

Gundogan not starting ever again as a number 8 is absolutely essential now.

Sané has to start after that performance on Wednesday, surely?

Otamendi was brilliant last week, again against and aggressive Cardiff you'd assume he should get a run.

As the other poster said earlier, we really lacked Kompany's leadership on Wednesday and I think I'd probably go with him in this game.

I think our biggest problem on Wednesday was that no one was running in behind. Jesus, Bernado and Sterling all wanted the ball to feet. There was loads of times where Dave was ready to put people in, but no one wanted to make a run. That's why one of Sané or Aguero has to be on the pitch at all times for me. Preferably both.

One of two things will happen. Either we continue stuck in second gear and this will be a tight difficult game with a single goal victory on either side or Sane will rip them a new one and we win comfortably. I hope for the latter but suspect the former.

Well if we can't beat Cardiff we won't be lifting any silverware this season, and I'm not wumming I'm fcking serious , the players need a fcking kick up the backside, concentration is key tomorrow.

Go on, I'll bite.

Why ?

Fernandinho played well against Fulham after a two week break but was poor against Lyon.

If Fernandinho is physically at it then it's no question he starts but 3 games in 7 days, after his lethargic start to the season, it's a no from me.

Gundogon doesn't do it for me in the advanced midfield role, his movement isn't great, however his spell when stepping in for Fern last season was great. His passing from deep helped our tempo, and his positioning is good when teams counter on us; made quite a few interceptions.

So a weary Fern against Cardiff? No thanks. Gondogon will in my opinion be better for now, but not necessarily all the time.
