Of course there is. The difference is that the person who wins can actually help people, while the person who loses gets 5 years of doing little in that regard.
Where do you live?
I can only assume that you don't live in one of the working class Labour strongholds like myself and don't see the stricken poverty around for what it is. This isn't the time to be fucking about with candidates that you freely admit aren't going to be PM and are making Labour unelectable. People are dying. And I'm not being dramatic, I see the huge social problems grow every day. A quick walk around my town centre will show you the massive drug problems that are doing nothing but growing, the massive youth unemployment problems that are doing nothing but growing, the massive demands that companies are able to put on workers due to the large demand for unskilled work, the massive cuts the Police have had to deal with and are constantly under. Somewhat strangely, I have a lot of friends and some family who work in the local Police and I listen to them every single day talk about how overworked and understaffed they are and how this is hugely affecting the area that I live in terms of social problems. Which of course knocks onto everything else including the NHS and education facilities. One of the busiest places on a weekday morning in my area is the food bank, where people (some working) are queuing to get basic needs. I know a pregnant woman with complications to her baby and she can't get a fucking antenatal appointment for a week. This is NOTHING to say about the problems in the social work area and the literally ridiculous case loads that they now have to take on as the Tories are allowed to throw away yet another working class generation of children due to poor economic policy.
That's my reality. That's what I live every day when I walk the streets. And then I come on here and see you talking about some pseudo-Machiavellian nonsense about moving Overton windows and the stalking horse of Corbyn dropping after moving it, like this is all just some academic theory you're sat discussing in a smoky coffee shop.
Labour needed to win the LAST election, let alone the one coming. The idea that we should be grateful for maybe perhaps getting an electable candidate two elections down the line is just nonsense. Ivory tower bollocks. You have that privilege, of discussing potential Princes and the machinations of the internal Labour Party politics. Millions of people in this country don't and needed a Labour Government to give them a safety net from poverty and ill health.
I support Labour because of that. I don't give a fuck what colour tie somebody is wearing, I give a shit about whether they're attempting to put legislation in place that will help working class areas in this country have some sort of prosperity and give their children same access to opportunity as other parts. Whether we do this as a hard left, soft left, Blue Labour, socialist Labour, communist Labour, Corbyn Labour, Brown Labour, Blair Labour, feminist Labour or lentil yoghurt knitting Labour makes very little difference to me in the scheme of things. I support a centrist Labour because they've proven to be electable and put PMs in office - that's it. I already support a football team and don't need another one.
What I'm trying to achieve is to recognise the major problems people are having with poverty and sticking a Government in power that will do something about this and make their lives better - not in 20 years but tomorrow. What is it that you're trying to achieve?
Let me tell you something. I and many many other labour voters will never vote for a centrist Blair type leader again. It is a disgrace how the trendy blair tossers have tried to sabotage a true left winger and even collaborated to oust him because he "isn't electable. What a load of utter bollocks, he will never be electable until the centrist types actually back him instead of sulking and acting like the entitled wankers they are.He will do more for the poor and needy if this country than any warmonger like Blair and you know it. If you are waiting for another raging liar to get elected then I promise, it will not happen, spoilt bastards the lot of you. Moan about the world we live in and then criticise the one man that will change it?Of course there is. The difference is that the person who wins can actually help people, while the person who loses gets 5 years of doing little in that regard.
