Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

Game plan was spot on.

Shocking penalty miss cost us the game.

I'd have took a point beforehand so I aint going to complain too much.

Top of the league having played Liverpool away, it's all in our hands.

Yep. 100% happy with a point from Anfield regardless of how the match played out. Our bogey-est game out of the way without a loss. That's a good day.

That and Liverpool are average and can get to fuck thinking they're in the same class as us.

Letting Mahrez take the penalty when he has missed 4 of his 7 latest pens (before this one) is absolutely shocking. But this is a very good result IMO. After 8 games we have the same amount of points as Liverpool, and the worst game of the season is out of the way. There are 90 points left to play for and we have way better depth than Liverpool. I've never been more happy with a draw in my life

Gutted. Only plus point is I thought Liverpool would win it after that.
How must Jesus be feeling now (what a way to destroy his confidence...)
Mendy scares me big time.

at the start of the game 1 pt would seem like a decent point but with the penalty miss its two dropped.

Pleased with the way we handled that game....we were more cautious in our approach but still threatening. Think a draw overall is a fair result but it could have been 3.

Thought both Silvas and Laporte were excellent and fern while not at his best put a real shift in....Sterling also didn't hide and played well.

Mahrez, even ignoring the penalty miss was poor

Special mention for Mendy....ive criticised his defensive discipline previously but thought he was good today.

remember - we just did that without KDB as well and he should be back soon to give us even more options and rested

I thought Mahrez played pretty well tbh, can’t fault him for taking the pen but his head went when he decided to blast it. He’s got such a cultured left foot, but that’s pressure for you.

Jesus has hardly got a great record at pens for us -who else was there?

A surprisingly boring game of football.

Mahrez’s selfishness aside, I believe we paid Liverpool too much respect.

It was a fantastic opportunity to finally win at Anfield and we blew it.

On a brighter note, I thought Stones, Laporte and Bernardo all had good games.
