Bluemoon Angling Thread

I get fishing rage at other anglers who disturb my peace. I’ve had a few rows on the bank over the years. The most recent was only a few weeks ago on The Wye where, with a mile and half of empty river (both banks) to go at, the only other angler tried to plonk himself within 5 yards of me.

I will wager he was a brexiteer as well mate ;-)

I'll be on sometime and show you my Barbel n' chub angling skills snorks. You just concentrate on Spey casting skills for fuck all fish mate ; )

Tight lines....... When you snag a tree lol
Glad you recognise the skill involved in spey casting after your recent effort. :)

I will be on the Annan in a coupla weeks time after a late greyback tourist before the season ends.

I'm interested in getting into angling. Lad at work knows his stuff and he's going to get me started. Loved the Bob & Paul series and that sence of fuck all else matters at this moment. This is my time.
plenty of waters around north west mate, I take it you mean course fishing? I have a bit of tackle I no longer use. A reel, perhaps a rod, landing net, floats hooks etc. Free to a good home.

That's a generous offer mate that i'll take you up on.

Your gonna tell me you live in Australia so i can't pick up ; )

Does the Tickled Trout at Preston still sell day tickets for fishing under the motorway bridge?
Yes I believe DTs are still sold on LH bank as water flows downstream from bridge. Tickets iirc used to be from petrol station there. Been years since I fished. The day ian Huntley got arrested as I heard the news on my radio whilst fishing.

Used to be full of slimy snigs( small eels) I wouldn't use maggor feeder if they are still abundant unless you want to cut the line almost every snig!

I think Prince Albert had R/H bank on there ?

It was years ago I fished there, same bank as the petrol station. The Chub used to Shoal in the middle of the river right under the bridge. A big waggler and lots of hemp used to be the way. I sound like Mr Crabtree :-)

Are those the wellies or are they actually boots ,don't know why I'm asking coz I'm going to google right now, haha, cheers

What you 're asking is something most anglers have been struggling with for years.

There are quite a few "moonboot" type thermal boots but I've always found them a bit cumbersome in slippery situations. I finally settled on Le Chameau neoprene lined wellies as being best for my purposes. Not perfect by any means and expensive. Indeed, I paid £100 for my last pair. Looked for replacements recently and they were £199 !!
