Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

I feel let down by that third leak.

Also are all these going to be about shit we got up too or are they going to eventually move onto another target?

We knew most of that. People plan in advance

Reading back, don't dismiss all this stuff as lies. It's not. Much of it is based on internal emails, but the context is everything and they forget we have been sanctioned and City have £500m revenues with the Etihad an integral part of that. Are any of the journalists who are onboard with this criticism going todeny that Etihad is a major international airline whose name is now intimately connected with MCFC and for whom £67.5m pa sponsorship is perfectly reasonable. How that monies came to City is irrelevant. How does Leicester City finance their club? They were put forward as an ideal this past week. Liverpool's shirt sponsor is similarly connected to their owner. Every owner in football does this

It's literally a nothing story. Managers aren't prevented from contacting other clubs like players are. Julian Nagelsmann, the golden boy of German football is moving from Hoffenheim to Leipzig next season and that's fine - even though their in the same league. Nico Kovac, Bayern's manager played the Cup final last year knowing he was going to Bayern.
What about the number of players Bayern tap up in the Bundesleagia when they know they’re contracts are coming to an end.
They sign a pre-contract agreement with Munich and continue playing giants Munich.

don’t see Der Spiegel running sensationalist articles on that practice

Why would they? That's not a story either. The point is not "look that's a scandal too!!!!", it's "this is a nothing story".

Could city in the background be briefing certain outlets to keep quiet? Not sure if there are legal threats or commercial reasons, but it is strange as normally they would be all over this.

There has been a tremendous shift in attitude from Sky towards us in recent months. I suspect the gun tattoo debacle over Sterling brought things to a head.

Sky have been getting exclusive steers on some stuff it would seem. I assumed Sterling verbally agreeing a new deal was via his agent Aidy Ward. It could well have come from City.

When you think about it, you don't need to brief anyone else if you have the main TV platform onside.
