Eddie, Raheem, Leroy, Stonesy, Aymeric, Jesus, KdB, Bernardo, Riyad - all mid- or early twenties. Merson has Vinnie, Ferny and David Silva in his sights. They have a script and put forward the flimsiest of evidence, but seem to think that if they've uttered this 'truth' it must be Holy Writ!
It’s off the cuff nonsense with no research.

Unable to locate a detailed report on the 6-0 win on the Daily Express on-line website. Only trolling Sterling and Guardiola, the latter for comparing the penalty incident to a Milner incident last season. Weird journalism. Surely most English football fans want to read about an English team thrashing East European opponents.

Reporting what actually happened isn't worthwhile anymore as it doesn't generate internet traffic as much as a good scandal.

I don’t know why everyone gets so worked up about journos.

Anyone with even a modicum of intelligence knows that journalists are widely reviled by the man in the street as muck raking truth stretching dirt balls with only a handful of noble exceptions. Due to the now now now demands of the younger generation journo standards have nosedived from an already questionable level of decency and morality to the level of writing anything controversial just to get a click. They aren’t journalists, they’re fishermen. Don’t bite.

I've seen it suggested that Carl Long doesn't exist. It's a name used (for some reason) over the top of an actual hack.
Which is pretty bizarre in itself.

Google "carl long" football365 for a number of examples.
Cari Long you say...hmm....swap the L in long for the R in Carl
And you get call rong....now swap them around Rong Call....haha

Yeah Sterling definitely didn’t dive, it was a clear referee mistake. You were by far the better team and didn’t look like conceding the whole game so obviously the result wasn’t really affected. Have to admit the media have gone way over the top on this one (I personally thought the Kompany against Burnley was worse). I’d rather be reading double page spreads on how shite we were Tuesday because until we get some proper stick I can’t see our performances getting any better any time soon! Everyone just keeps papering over the problems!

Only thing I can think of is if Sterling didn’t want to be booked for diving if he told the referee could he not have taken the penalty and just hit it wide? Seen teams do that before. You Would’ve had to have hit the media for all of the right reasons then?

The only thing Raheem has ever done wrong was having the temerity to leave liverpool. The witch hunt against him for doing nothing wrong, again, last night is just fucking racism. He is vilified for shopping at Greggs and Poundland, yet another ex liverpool player can gob in a young girl’s face and still have his job, had Raheem done that he would have been kicked out of football. All the abuse he gets for not diving, yet when a wolves player punches the ball into the net (from an offside position) AGAINST US where was the outcry? Fucking arseholes

Absolutely.

The BBC has a load of graduates in Salford working for them.

How many people aged 24-28 are City fans generally speaking?

As a 26 year old myself, I’ve known full well City are hugely unrepresented in my age group because of how shit we were when I was growing up.

You're only 26?? I had you down for 50+ reading the political threads.............

I know one of them. He's 28/29, and a "massive" red (aren't they all?)

He's been at the Beeb since he left uni, and works for the Sports Dept.

Fair do's to the lad, his knowledge of football, and sports in general is very good, but his heart lies deep in the swamp, so any of his contributions will certainly be tainted with his ragness.

Not just them but people who support a number of different clubs or just have an interest in the game. Weirdly though, most would still rather see us win anything than the rags.
That’s the thing though see, it’s driven through that thing football rivalry does that makes common sense thinking impossible. In their own company they know we’ve done nothing wrong etc etc but in public, to their mates down the pub or on social media the instinct is to act irrationally and spew bile. If you hear a rumour Pogba turned us down to join them lot because they offered an insane amount of more money, you’ll believe that even if it’s not true, because the irrationality of football rivalry kick in. So whilst the people you know may say we are this, that or the other because they’ve read the press articles this week, deep down they will know we’ve done rock all wrong.

Not really a fan of megathreads, but the BBC and Sky "bias" threads were becoming a bit general and often covering the same points so thought it would make sense to keep it all in one thread.
