When I was a ref in the Northern League I was not supposed to be allowed to ref any of the 4 nearest teams to where I lived. I was given an FA appointment from London to ref a FA Vase game, Crook V South Shields. I rang the FA at London to point out I live in Crook. Their response was "don't tell anyone". Now if you know Crook it is a small town & how they thought this would work was beyond me. So how Taylor can even be appointed to this is questionable.
I also reffed City ladies in the FA Cup in the days of Sven. Rang them to say I was a City fan. Again was told "no one will know".
Well done for taking action HB.Probably but at least it's on record. Happy if people want to cut and paste, although not one of my best-it was just an off the cuff idea.
I just sent this very quick email below to PGMOL to get something to them before the furore. Incidentally of the 11 games he's done so far this season, he's booked only 44 and no red cards-long let that continue!!
Good Morning,
I just wish to put on record my amazement at the appointment of Anthony Taylor for the Manchester Derby on Sunday. How it can be considered appropriate for a referee, who lives less than 6 miles from Old Trafford and is a well-known Manchester United fan is baffling. He states that he lives in, and supports Altrincham, but that is part of Greater Manchester in the borough of Trafford-I’m sure you see the connection!!
I hope that my fears of some sort of partisanship towards either team on his part are unfounded but having seen how he has recently acted in Manchester City games (Wigan in the FA Cup last year and Chelsea in 2016) he has officiated, I won’t hold my breath.
You have a panel of referees from around the country so why would you, as a respected authority even consider an appointment that allows questions to be asked regarding potential favouritism by an official?

I took on board some of the comments and have sent this revised version, which with a bit more time devoted reads better-thanks guys :
I just wish to put on record my amazement at the appointment of Anthony Taylor for the Manchester Derby on Sunday. He openly admits that he is from Wythenshawe, a south Manchester suburb that is heavily biased towards Manchester United. How it can be considered appropriate for a referee from Wythenshawe, who still lives less than 6 miles from Old Trafford, is baffling. Although he states that he lives in, and supports Altrincham, that is, and has been for many years, part of Greater Manchester in the borough of Trafford-I’m sure you see the connection!! Even the Manchester Evening News in past articles has questioned his "allegiance".

The original went to the EFL and they have replied saying it is outside their jurisdiction despite me following the PGMOL link.
Dreamon mateGiven everyone knows he's a Rag,due to him not wanting to display obvious bias and maybe overcompensating as a result.....could this work in our favour?
Irrespective,no fucking ref will prevent us from spanking those fuckers.
Now Anthony you have your instructions from uncle gary , book Fernandinho early on - first challenge so that he cannot make another tackle all game
What seems very strange to me is that no one at the Premier League, PMGOL or in the media is interested in a born and bred Manc reffing a Manchester derby.
Even stranger when he is allegedly a Rag supporter.
This...all day longShite ref rag or not! Why is it everytime he refs our games they end in some sort of fracas, he fucked the Chelsea game up, fucked the Wigan game up and then they give him a huge match knowing if it flairs on the pitch our fans will riot, can't see how people can't see this is a total setup by the FA and PGMOL. Just hope we batter them on the pitch and there's sod all he can do about it or we are in trouble.
Cheers mate, just used the link myself also, we all shouldI took on board some of the comments and have sent this revised version, which with a bit more time devoted reads better-thanks guys :

Any comments pigeon boy?Last premier league game Anthony officiated at the Etihad was the Chelsea game that ended in a fight. With two City players sent off and no Chelsea players. The fight was a culmination of what had gone before. The main decision he had bottled was the sending off that Luiz should have got when checked off Aguero when he was last man.
The last City match Anthony was in charge of was Wigan away in the cup. Where he sent Delph off after being persuaded by the Wigan players to do so. Even though he had already started writing down Delph's booking on his yellow card.

Yes, he thinks he will be biased towards us to prove he ain’t biased against usAny comments pigeon boy?
Link?I know what your response will be to this, but fuck it, I shouldn’t feel I can’t post it for fear of being thread banned or bad mouthed.
Woman over the road from me is a home and away united supporter. One of those clad in colours. Her house is named ‘old trafford’. A proper fan girl type. On her Facebook yesterday she put on how the blues are being smacked arsed about Taylor’s appointment, which lead to a thread about 50 comments deep from her mates who all think Taylor is bent AGAINST them! The stats say otherwise. Not my stats by the way, they were on Transfermrkt. Interesting though that they think he’s bent against them.
