Media coverage 2018/19

The media, sport and “high-minded” alike, especially the English variety, have it in for us now. They smell blood (dripping from the small cuts in our club’s back, which they let to begin with) and they are circling.

I am afraid we are in for a long and tedious journey to (hopefully) relative redemption. I am not saying we didn’t do *anything* that could be seen as slightly dodgy in a certain light. But, based on current evidence, most of the potentially “questionable” moves were meant to circumvent dodgy rules themselves, put in place under pressure from the cartel clubs, for the clandestine purpose of stopping our progression which could lead to the break up of their dominance.

I would say the vast majority of our actions where above board, even despite constant moving of the goals by the FA and UEFA, as the Sky Four attempted keep us at bay.

Keep calm, and pass to David, I say.
It's quite simple really, don't read any of this shit, don't read their bile. I never read papers and I'm as happy as a pig in shit, if it wasn't for bluemoon I would have been blissfully unaware of all this weeks palaver.

I'm going to do my blood pressure a favour and not even bother watching what the panel of Loose Weapons, sorry, Sky's Super Soccer Saturday, have to say about the current accusations.
Hopefully, City's lawyers won't though because if there's one programme where the clutching of pearls, amid the pretence of such righteousness, might spill over into sheer unwashed, slander...

I agree.

There’s no way we’re favourites.

Slapping your Huddersfields and Southamptons is great but very different from outsmarting wisened old hands like the big CL 3.

I’d have us as 4th favourites.
We are better than Bayern and Real Madrid are not as strong as in the past, their galaticos are ageing not so well and there’s definitely disharmony in the camp and amongst the fans. Barca, despite a sticky start are beginning to find their mojo and when Messi is back we should see them pull away at the top of La Liga, for me they are favourites but we are the team to beat and a match for any side out there. KDB hopefully back fresh and firing when the knock out starts in Feb will be huge for our chances.

John Dillon on talkshite, sun 'journalist' reckons City have used silva talking about his kid to cynically deflect from the news about us "cheating" this week.

Anyone knows his address, I'll happily go round and break his jaw to stop any more of this slanderous bile.

Did he actually say that?! That’s disgusting if he did.

Gloriously missing my point.

Genuinely said that?

If so, that’s a proper ****’s trick,

So this week we have been subjected to a media campaign against the club and also individual players ( namely Stirling).....us fans have got off lightly- but watch that change after Sunday’s match - I’m ready for the backlash regarding our fans disgusting behaviour in the ‘minutes silence’ ......

Lads - don’t give them an inch as for sure they are waiting to pounce on us next. Whatever the provocation- stay silent and respectful.

Once that whistle blows - let’s unleash hell

I wouldn't read this if you have high blood pressure....

Manchester derby has been skewed by a decade of Abu Dhabi investment

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/nov/09/manchester-derby-city-united-abu-dhabi-investment

Going into Sunday’s trip to the Theatre of Dirhams.....United will look to disrupt and sit deep, as they did successfully against Juventus, and to use their own power on the break and from set pieces. But 10 years on it is a mark of changing times, and of the absurdity of big football finances, that a victory for the most profitable football team in the world could almost feel now like a blow struck for the little man.

Christ on a f**king bike!
From little horse to little man in half a decade.

If you want to limit expenditure you put a salary cap in place like US sport - but the Entitled 'Istory clubs don't want ANY competition. Hence FFP.
They've always wanted a salary cap but one where their cap is higher than the likes of us.

So we ban every media outlet apart from the ones we have to have with sky/bt would City be worse of? Personally I think we don’t need them and now with it mainly being about clicks they only chasing the things like the sterling kick in the ground not the 6-0 fantastic win! I’d fcuk them of.
I agree. Welcome those that treat us fairly (even if they are critical of us). Fuck the rest off. Would probably ease traffic problems after the game too.

Can't figure our how to attach an image but just tweeted that **** Dillon and Georgie Bingham and she replied saying after I called them out on the Silva comment.... She says....

"Honestly because it was that crass and tasteless that I didn't think it merited oxygen"

That's all well and good but not calling disgusting shit out emboldens the arsehole peddling it.

Total pure poison from Dillon which comes as no surprise given his output on twitter. He mocked City for advertising corporate packages saying: "You wouldn't see Liverpool and United doing that." In fact they both do advertise tickets. He also said: "You can say what you like about the Glazers but United earn their money." Not really true given the clubs reliance on debt.
He mocked our attendances in Europe (no mention of 52,000 against Shaktar) His finishing shot was to accuse City of manipulating the David Silva and his baby story to get good publicity. To be fair Cascarino was staunch in his defence of City. He sounded embarrassed and described Dillon as "a City-hater." It was the worst thing I have heard in a week of pure hatred for our club from some sections of the media.

At least you've had a reply, Dillon hasn't come back to me but I don't expect him to.

Surely Dillon has stepped over the line here. This cockroach can't be allowed anywhere near our club. I am sure the players will soon be aware of his comments. I know he is a freelance but broadcasters have been sacked for less tastless comments. Obviously not at the BBC where Dan Roan remains Head of Sport despite his cruel comments mocking the Leicester owner 24 hours after the copter crash.

Gloriously missing my point.
How so? You had us 4th favs, my argument is for us to only have Barca as the one to beat, your point was “slapping” the like of Fulham as opposed to the big Euro teams is easy, I agree with that, not sure which point I missed.

Me to Elbows, never buy or read the crap and haven’t done so for about 20 years. Like you if it wasn’t for BM I wouldn’t know and to be quite frank I couldn’t give a sh1t what they print.

It's been non stop all week with some really nasty crap written and I expect more in the next couple of days. The club should leave a box of rotten vegetables on all seats within a 30 yard vicinity of the press section, I don't think the fans will take them home somehow.

Stating the obvious, again:

This thread, the United one, the talksport one and the Der Spiegel one...

It reminds me of a spoilt only child, they get given all the toys they want, they always demand and are given more, they clamour for attention, they do something wrong they throw a hissy fit when lightly chastised.

They play with their toys, always winning their invented games. When other kids come to play, they have to play their way, with the toys that they decide to allow. All other toys they haven’t got themselves are rubbish, till they whinge and whine to get them themselves.
If in their invented game they happen to start losing, the rules will change, the toys taken away and the game will stop and be changed to another of their choosing.

as time goes by, the child becomes isolated by their behaviour, and their treatment of others. the sense of entitlement of toys pushes them into further strops when they don’t get given them, till eventually they pick up their toys and play all alone, whilst all the other kids get on with being adults.
