this is a biggy. Pep has done right.Agreed. But didn't Pep say that Phil is now ready to play in games like this, yet he won't pick him.
he got it wrong in the first leg. our only defeat. seems he has read my posts and took on my advice.Pep knows best. Can't question any of his decisions that's why we are such the team we are now.
A valid point but he's now had over a year as a squad member with no starts in any meaningful matches.
Well since they normally play in different positions he shouldn't be too upset.I’d have like to see Foden start, but those who really have a problem with him not starting and Mahrez starting, how do you think our record signing would react to not starting a big game in favour of an 18 year old?
Yeah if this means he'll start against Bournemouth I'm all for it. Unfortunately I guess he'll go with Delph as #6 and Fernandinho in a more advanced position then.Phil’s omission from the starting eleven could point to a much larger chance of him starting this weekend, which I think is a much better fit for him: competitive match against opposition that know how to play football, but at home, so he’ll feel a bit more at ease, and if he makes mistakes the crowd can ensure he knows he’s supported (unlike tonight).
I think most people wouldn't have a problem with it if Pep haven't told us many times how Phil is ready and that he feel so bad for not starting him.If Pep doesn't think he's good enough for a game of this magnitude yet, I don't get why that's so hard for people to accept. He's the best coach in the world, he knows what he's doing.
If you're think our whole campaign depends on whether Foden starts or not then you're talking shit mate. Personally I'm looking forward to see Mahrez in a central position. But I don't think we will be weaker if we played Foden instead of him.Lyon have beaten us once this season already and caused us plenty of problems in doing so.
Pep's priority is to get us finishing top of the group, this year more than any other we are in a position to win this thing and there is no reason to risk this in order to give Foden a start just because us fans would like to see it.
Put it this way, when the season ends what would you rather see on Pep's C.V.?
Champions League winner 2018 / 2019
Or
Gave Foden a start in a CL game and kept the posters on bluemoon happy.
Why not both?Put it this way, when the season ends what would you rather see on Pep's C.V.?

Corrected for you.I wonder if the press didn’t use Sancho as a stick to beat us with if there would be such a clamour to get him starting these type of games.
I'll give it another half hr before venturing to the TV. Just something about BT sport that grates meDunny and Jol in the studio
