I think Arsenal being so close to Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea is great because it increases the likelihood of Liverpool going from 2nd and chasing the title, to 5th and panicking about top 4 if they lose a game or two.

I was thinking having a team breathing down their neck might have kept them strictly away from 1st, but hopefully you're right.
