The Boxing thread

AJ v Fury is the fight we all want to see, don’t give two fucks about Wilder.

Joshua will NEVER accept a fight against fury whilst he has the belts as he knows full well he would be embarrassed. Flat footed, plodding, immobile, naive. Hes just a better looking version of Frank bruno.

Got sick of listening to him pre-fight.

But he comes across well in a couple of videos post-fight, particularly the one you have posted.

Also enjoyed him getting everyone at the press conference singing American Pie.
I never bother watching any of the pre-fight guff, because I know they're all paid to act like the biggest nob heads imaginable to create hype for the fight.

It was loads of good movement, awkward style, good jabbing tactics and better combinations from Fury; while Wilder just followed Fury around the ring swinging his arms around. He connected with three or four big ones, two knocked Fury down, but I’m convinced if Fury was seriously fight fit and not carrying all that fat around the ring with him (his whole back was moving all fight because it was loose and that has an effect on you as it’s like carrying around a bag on your back whilst fighting) he’d have been lighter and sharper of mind too and I’m not sure Wilder would have hit him once. For 95% of the fight Fury saw Wilder’s punches coming from a mile away so ducked, weaved and backed off at the right moments.

I’ll be honest, about five years ago I thought Fury was a joke but now I think he’s the best pure boxer in the heavyweight division despite being weird in his movement at times.

Just got to get himself properly fight fit and get someone to sort his gloves out properly as they were floppy last night like he had on some thirty year old gloves from the bottom drawer of the old cabinet in the dark corner of the gym!

I am asking as a boxing know-nothing-at-all. What do you want to see happen next from a fighters point of a view and fans point of view? Would

We'll get a rematch between Wilder and Fury and you'd have to make Fury slight favourite for 2 reasons, first he'll be fitter and sharper and second the ring last night was a lot smaller than standard which favoured Wilder as the brawler, can't see that happening again.
If Whyte wins well against Chisora there's a good chance of another AJ v Whyte fight before any unification fight.

Just watched a few videos on YouTube and from various interviews with Fury's team I'm convinced Wilder will fight AJ in April. Would be sad for Fury but it would be funny to see Warren's meltdown.

Without a doubt Fury did very well last night. But clearly he seems to have forgotten about a certain Mohammed Ali if he thinks his showing last night was the greatest comeback in the history of boxing. Sugar Ray Leonard might have a thing to say aswell.

just watched the full fight and it was even not close until the 2 knockdowns in round 9 and 12 that saved wilder and being the home fighter and we all know showtime boxing and the score with the home boy and the bent scoring, i had it 6/2 to fury before the 9th round and then fury won round 10 and 11 so 8/3 before the the final round so 8/4 in my book to fury, and am not fury's biggest fan but fair is fair he did the job on wilder and won by 4 rounds

i think both will fight again before a rematch at wembley in late summer august/september and i think fury is after the winner of the fight whyte vs chisora maybe in march or AJ could fight the winner and the loser fights fury, but the AJ vs wilder or fury is not going to happen next year unless fury beat wilder and then maybe late in the years AJ vs fury could happen in wales under the roof in cardiff

Yeah, he can act the clown all he wants, he's still a piece of shit.

If he dont fancy a ring-piece butty then that dont mean he's homophobic...

Nice touch what he's got planned for his nights purse...

Sometimes out of badness comes goodness....

except leonard and ali didnt fight away from home...

It’s a shame where we live in a age where great sporting moments/comebacks are met with scorn, brushed off as a conspiracy.
That was a great fight and both fighters deserve a lot of credit.
