If you take a look at the comments section on the back pages of any newspaper, it's full of predictable repetitive bullshit after every City article, the same tired old tropes over and over again and a few City stalwarts fighting a valiant rearguard action.

It's depressing.

"We shall go on and on and on. We shall fight them in the chatrooms, and on the comments pages, we shall fight with spurious arguments and growing half-arsed arguments on the airwaves, we shall protest too much from our homes in Ireland, whatever the cost to self-respect may be. We shall not fight them on the pitches, or on the training grounds, we shall fight in the streets while dressed in black. And we will never admit that we're wrong."

M Goldbridge (probably, after W Churchill)

Depressing that people, who a certainty not City fans, find the time to go on line and write anti-City slogans on newspapers websites. Some people must have very sad lives. Do they derive some kind of pleasure from it? Most strange.

I, like most on here, hate the rags but I would never dream of even reading one of their reports let alone comment on it.
I was taking great pleasure last night reading on twitter liverpool fans crying over the fact that teams don't try against us, they just sit back and accept their fate, city aren't that good, its just teams not trying against us that makes it easy for us. Teams raise their game against liverpool so its harder for them to win the league. They have a better defense than us, they have a better forward 3 than us, they have a better manager than us, they have better fans than us and its just not fair. Where are those candles

£13.48... as if!! Nobody should be throwing anything, but if they did, are they really going to throw more than a 10p at most? So they are saying over 100 people threw coins.

I think the most likely scenario is that it’s made up bollocks.

The 2nd most likely scenario is that the money was picked up, but it fell out of a disabled fan’s pocket.
Imo the "most likely scenario" is the whole "£13.48" is completely made up by Keegan trying to remind readers of a previous era. Almost all the journos at the MEN are rags, (even the City reporter!).

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but I use newsnow.co.uk usually for any MCFC related news and after EVERY game now I noticed there will be an article from a site called "This Is Futbol" which will usually have a headline like: "Disasterclass' - Many fans slaughter 'Lazy' Man City player who 'Gives me the mare' after win"

WTF is all that about? I won't link it because I don't want them to get clicks.

Tomorrow’s sport....Daily Mail desperate to find a negative on City. Check the last paragraph on the United netting story.
An alleged incident NINE YEARS ago. Mike Keegan desperate yonner.

I can't read the story as it wont enlarge but if they are saying they are putting up netting as away fans throw coins then that is absolute bollocks and I can say that without fear of contradiction as I bet I am the only Blue on here that has sat in the disabled section. I have taken a disabled fan to that section of the ground quite a few times and I know the other people that take the same lad, basically I stand in for them when they can't. I have been to Rags v Chelsea amongst others and I have NEVER witnessed any coins or anything being thrown. Not one of the lads support workers has ever mentioned it and neither has the disabled (wheelchair) United fan I speak to regularly. There is the usual banter, swearing etc between rival fans who are at the side but I (we) have never seen coins or any other objects being thrown.

I was just musing the same question .... I think there three such threads on news now right now .... I wonder if other teams get the same treatment?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46440112 Even the women are getting a slagging off...

Here is part of that shite article......
The Continental Cup kick-off time was agreed at the start of the season.
United's attempts to delay the kick-off last week were turned down by City because they had already sold tickets and booked stadium staff.

So why is it even an article that the BBC feel they have to print (I know the answer) Sheffield knew the date and the kick off time months ago and yet they asked for a change last week !!!!

Up their arses along with their heads.

The main headline is Chest Perfect but the sub headline states Sane bundled the ball home !!! Watford bundled their goal home, Sanes was exquisite. If Martial had put an inch perfect cross over for Rashford to chest into the net does anyone believe the paper would have said 'bundled' ?
It would be on SSN as a loop even though they didn't have the rights to the game.

Keegan supports Latics. Some of them despise us

That’s basically the jist of it, but he referenced an alleged incident of City fans throwing coins to a precise value, at disabled United fans, NINE years ago as a reason. Why?

Yeah. You can only think fuck em for so long, after that it gets boring and eventually depressing.

After a while hordes of fuckwits bad mouthing something you love has an effect, I never truly believe those who say it doesn't.
It mildly upsets me that anyone would get "depressed" by what they read in newspapers about sport. I genuinely feel for you if you do get depressed and I'm sorry that you don't believe that I don't. But I don't.
