Leicester (League Cup) - Post Match Thread.

Considering the fact our team was a mix of second string, kids, semi-fit first teamers and Stones in midfield it wasn't a bad performance all in all.

It wasn't a good performance mind, but considering we were away at another PL side on a cold wet night, it could have been a lot worse.


A consolation about the Sterling pen is, he won't be doing that again.
 
Well better than I expected from the Pens onwards for more silverware, Garcia looks very able and looks like he could easily make it with us
 
Sterling is a shite finisher, it’ll never change lol. If he could shoot he’d me on Messi/Ronaldo level I’m sure. I remember he scored a pen against Watford? He almost skied that too luck for him it ended up in the roof of the net! Should never take a pen again in his life.
 
Walker, Mahrez & unfit Sergio were terrible. Everybody else did ok. Always good to win a penalty shootout. What about our back up keepers though? Bravo, Grimshaw & apparently Muric are all masters of the shootout.
 
Outclassed them in the first half with a very young makeshift squad, probably paid for not being 2-0 up in the second half where we were quite poor. Zinchenko and Sterling will have Pep pointing out what they did wrong after the game for sure. Pleased for Muric getting his own chant at the end. :)

Think it was a mistake to start with Mahrez. Great to see KDB start so well.

otamendi is no longer a UCL EPL and 2nd team starter at best. his passing forward isn't good enough and he goes a bit mental at times.
Still think we need another finisher.

Needs stepping up as Liverpool are going to push us till the very end.

We just completely twatted Everton a few days ago.
 
Annoyed as I am it happened to one of ours, I've been dying for someone to stuff up a panenka penalty and look a tit doing so. As others said, he won't do that again, and Guardiola will rip him a new one.
 
Good win, good first half performance, good for the kids, terrible second half performance. Some of the squad players haven't done themselves any favours, while the kids all have probably helped themselves. Garcia barely put a foot wrong and didn't stand out at all, instead they targeted Zinchenko and otamendi, which is great for the lad but pretty damning for them. Great to have Kev back, he looked very rusty in places and missed passes he'd normally make in his sleep, but even still he was capable of scoring a worldie. Very rusty looking Aguero as well, so good to get the minutes in his legs ahead of the really important games.
