Thought Garcia was excellent. Great result considering we weren't remotely tuned-in tonight.
Why are bournemouth through?Strange one that. There were times in the second half when I'm not even sure we were even that bothered about winning it. I know Guardiola makes the same noises as Pellegrini used to about taking each game as it comes and doing everything to win it (which is a little hard to square with the starting selection), but even at the end, there was almost an air of 'oh well, another round' about the celebration. It was certainly in stark contrast to the euphoria last season, albeit the circumstances then were rather different. I just wonder if, knowing what happened last season and the toll it takes, he'd have stomached going out on penalties tonight if it meant saving energy for the bigger prizes.
Anyway, Burton or Bournemouth, please.
Bournemouth tried that with every dead ball pumped to his left back position. He lost out most times.
Think you got stones and gundogan mixed up!Muric - Tidy passing, no chance with goal, did well in shootout.
Walker - Just shite.
Zinchenko - Did well, let himself down with goal but playing out of position.
Garcia - Looked tidy, read the game well.
Otamendi - Was ok, good to get more minutes in him with Vinny injured and loads of games coming up.
Stones - Was shite, not his fault, never want to see him play there again.
KdB - Looked good, great to get more minutes in him.
Foden - Looked a bit better than ok.
Diaz - Looked ok.
Sterling - Anonymous.
Mahrez - Worse than shite.
Aguero - No real service, he's always slow coming back, so good to gets minutes in him.
Jesus - Looked good, no real service but worked as hard as ever.
Gundogan - Looked a bit better than ok.
Overall, it was used as an old reserves match... fringe players, youth players and players coming back from injury and with two players playing out of position. Did well to get through which is all that matters, not too many negatives but only 3 first team players started and one was out of position. Was always going to be a scrappy affair.
Really !!
I thought he`d been converted form a mid-fielder to a substitute full back !!
Thanks. Not laughing so loud now though eh!Ran straight up to him laughing in his face.
His performance v them was much worse than people realise, I think.
I have a great seat for watching wingers fullbacks & linos & the defensive line. In Brian Horton or Alan Ball's team for example, he would be the worst fullback we have ever had.
When Pep has had seasons or games where he failed at Barca or Bayern, it's always been the defence which has fucked up.
He's taken big steps to avoid that, in the Prem, signing a bunch of great big defenders, but this situation is asking for it imo.

Would prefer to play Spurs or Gunners over two legs in the semi. If we don't meet them until the final there is more chance of a freak one-off result imho...Strange one that. I disagree. Quick, technicallly gifted, football intelligent players will always win out. Trouble is Zinchenko doesn't
fit into any of those categories. He's not bad technically but gifted, no.
Thought Stones looked so uncomfortable, his control looked worse as there is less time on the ball. It was a case of just about controling the ball and getting rid of it (backwards) safely more often than not. Gundogan was his usual self, looked ok.
Stones looks terrified he's going to get caught out. Frightened to turn with the ball, as more often than not he's facing our goal.
Fern receives the ball more facing the opponent goal, where he can see all in front. If he does receive the ball facing ours, he's not afraid to turn and
if he does play the easy ball back he's quickly into position to receive it again. He's familiar with his surroundings so knows when he has space to turn into and
even then he still gets caught out at times, as that space can disappear in a nano. Stones is far to cautious and always seems to be in two minds.
Stones - Was shite, not his fault, never want to see him play there again.
Diaz - Looked ok.
