That’s the way to do it.
I’d say Mahrez needs to be played if only to get him to play himself back into form. He delivered absolutely nothing last night. Or against Chelsea, for that matter.
I’ve said this before. Zinchenko is a good, honest lad, with some real skills. He just isn’t a full back. We’ve got something of a problem at that position.
Others have said it: Walker’s shot, he’s making poor mistakes because of sheer weariness, I suspect. Is Danilo fit now?

Back to basics. Could be quite a large scoreline if we notch early.
Ederson
Walker, Stones, Laporte, Delph
Fernandinho
Sterling, Bernardo, Gundogan, Sané
Aguero

Muric, Zinchenko, Otamendi, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Jesus, Foden

Even tho Walker has been quite poor, surely he needs to start as all palace have is pace on the wings so we need his pace to counter that

Jesus has to start. I’m in my view, you don’t drop a player that has just scored 2 in the previous league game.

Spot on. Also, he looked really fresh, lively and confident when he came on last night. This might be the start of a rich vein of form for Gabby, would be great to have the front two share the burden over the busy period coming up.

It's nothing to do with getting forward, he's making a shitload of mistakes defensively and being sloppy in possession, he needs a spell out of the starting lineup, unsurprisingly looking knackered after about 80 games in the last year with no break.

He's been making a few mistakes but he's been far from terrible and these brain fades he's been having have always been a part of his game. If we had another quality right-back to come in (that's not first game back from injury) then I'd consider dropping him but not against Palace if he's gonna be up against Zaha or another pacey winger/fullback (Van Aanholt).

We have a quality right-back to come in if he's fit.

Walker is a fantastic player. OK he his form has dipped. It happens to everyone but he'll be back at his outstanding best soon enough.

Two uncertainties for me:

1) Jesus. Looks bang on form now. Do we play Jesus to continue this run, or get game time into Sergio who looked rusty at Leicester as he often does after injury

2) David Silva. Will he play? I read above that he's taking advantage of resting his injury to look after his family but not convinced. If he's fit, I think he'll play. We'll know by training on Friday I guess.

The fickleness of the football fan out on display again.

When I logged on and had a look at the pre-match thread before the Chelsea game there wasn't a single person who had Jesus in their starting xi at the time of me posting, most opting for Sterling as a false 9 instead.

Fast forward 2 weeks and after one game where Jesus happened to score a couple, suddenly he's 'undroppable' in 'red hot form'.

Back to being shit again if he doesn't score this weekend obviously.

It would be great to have Merlin for this, don’t rush him back though if he’s not 100%.
Tough decisions for Pep, they have some real pace up front, so we might need Walker even if he’s a bit ropey at the moment.
Hopefully Ferni will be back and ready to go.
Foden has proved he’s ready, try and get him in if possible.
Mahrez looks a shadow of his former self. I hope the disaster at Leicester hasn’t affected him too much.
We need to move the ball much quicker, we slow it down and allow them to regroup when we get the chance to counter.
Gabby should start, his movement and link up play lately has been great.
2-1 to us.
