When we lost to them last year, we had a couple of home games afterwards to jump right back in the saddle, whereas they have to go to Wolves and then Brighton after they face us. Wolves is in the Cup, of course. While we played within ourselves in the corresponding fixture, we did enough to win it, but this time I think we need to go all out to win it.

If they add the FA cup to their priorities when in this position they are crazy. If I were them I would only focus on the two big ones now and even then wouldn’t be overly bothered by the CL. They have a glorious chance to win the league for the first time in almost 30 years. They would be mad not to focus solely on that.

They will come at us from the off, hoping to get a quick goal and put us under the cosh possibly expecting us to be slightly fragile in the mindset if conceding early doors, think we need us the fans to be right on them and give these cnuts a taste of their own medicine, booing every time they touch the ball, jeering every foul to be putting pressure on the ref anything to create a horrible atmosphere for them to make it totally uncomfortable..

We rarely ever do this, but this Thursday we have to get on the ref's back, the whole Etihad should erupt after every tackle and challenge they make.

Zinchenko as a wingback against them is laughable. The position on the pitch that you most need pace and an unbelievable engine.

I know what you mean, but our options are limited and Zinchenko is capable of decent delivery of the ball from out wide. My feeling is that we need to double up in our left back channel and playing Zinch in front of Laporte gives us that.

Take your blue tinted specs off pal, you have to admit we are defensively frail at the moment. We have some serious injuries to our squad but should have enough to give them a scare, but if we squander the chances like we have been, then we cannot blame anyone for a loss v Dippers.
I think you need to read your post again. You said if Mahrez & Gundog start, they may well have a 2-0 start, and now you have changed your tack and are ranting on about defence being poor. You are just always a glass half empty poster

I expect Pep to play

---------Eddie-------------
Walker-Stones-Laporte-Danilo
------Silva------Ferny----
Mahrez--Silva--Sterling
---------Aguero-----------

Liverpool will play for a draw, they just dont want to lose, we will play conservative, then hit them at some point

So why have you left Pep out of your line-up ? ;-)

This is a game when we should play 3 at the back. Its a time for a pragmatic selection.

Sterling always plays shit against them, so keep on the bench until we have control or need more going forward if chasing the game.

Vinny is just too slow and is a red card waiting to happen against them. Doubling up the holding players in MF should give is better control of the midfield.

for me
Ederson

Stones The Otter Laporte

Walker Danilo. Ferna Zinchenko

Bernardo (Kev if fit) Dave

Sergio
Not for me mate, but we will see

What about Stones at LB? Not ideal, but we don't have anything close to a perfect option here.

Let's raise the roof and make it horrible for these twats with every touch they have, a bit like what Rangers did to Celtic yesterday, they couldn't put two passes together with that pressure on them

3 at the back v these ****s is the worst idea any human being has ever had. Including outside of football.

Huge game if we're to retain the title. Hopefully De Bruyne will be available again after missing out today, but left-back is the most pressing issue in terms of team selection. I'd go:

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Laporte
Danilo
Fernandinho
De Bruyne
D Silva
Sterling
Sane
Aguero
Yep, can’t argue with that.
