Transfer game for advanced players. Barcelona on course to attract De Jong, City is chasing De Ligt
The future of Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong is becoming increasingly clear. Manchester City is the main bidder for De Ligt, while Barcelona seems to win the fight for De Jong.
Both players have never made a secret of it after leaving Ajax this season. All sorts of European top clubs have explicitly looked at the two talents, where a transfer game erupted between the superpowers.
For example, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City have the focus on De Ligt. The nineteen-year captain of the team from Amsterdam is at the top of Manchester City's wish list. The English top club sees in him the desired defensive reinforcement for next summer.
City was also in the market for Frenkie de Jong, but could not compete against the transfer violence of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. Both clubs compete for the signature of the 21-year-old midfielder, where the Spaniards have the best papers. Spanish media such as Marca, AS and Ràdio Catalunya report that Barcelona is willing to pay 90 million euros to Ajax and thereby trumpets PSG.
