I’ve just listened to the times podcast with Alison Rudd, it’s hilarious the straws they cling to. Obviously everyone agreed Kompany was a clear red & no mention of Sterling pen.

Cheers for the heads up on that - clearly one to avoid, esp if she is on it

Dermott Gallagher (ex ref) on OPTUS here in Aus saying its a foul and a yellow not a red. Shearer arguing saying it’s a red. Dermott view is the speed and intensity is not there, it’s a one footed challenge as the right leg is actually tucked in and it’s not a two footed challenge.

Ian Wright also arguing its a red as is Luis Garcia.

Carragher and Neville were quite clear that they thought yellow.
Gallagher is right that it's not two-footed - a phrase that has been turned into a catch-all for "off the ground"

At times like these, I wish city fans were more organised in their efforts to discredit biased and agenda driven journalism. As nothing will change until this happens.

Any ideas on this @Ric ?

Anyone thinking it's a red is a dick. Minimal contact and only on a replay can you say Salah took evasive action away from Vinnie's lunge. Barely a foul, really.

Anyway, if they're clinging on to that and a lucky rebound not going in, christ almighty.

From the BBC:

Why first defeat will not knock Liverpool's title belief - Mark Lawrenson

I never mind it with someone like Lawrenson. He doesn't hide his affiliation, and everyone knows it. The problem is with the number of Liverpool pundits rather than individually - it's like how Zabaleta was as pro City as he could be when he was a guest on Sky. It's fair enough. The trouble with the BBC and Sky is the lack of counterbalance.

The fact they're so pissed off with those decisions just makes it even sweeter.

Scouse ****s

There shouldn't be a need for counterbalance. Pundits should try to be impartial.

Not sure what you're on about? Sky were very balanced with Kelly Dalglish, Graeme Souncess and Jamie Carragher against Joleon Lescott.......

Scouse hypocrtites. How can we ever forget last year Mane almost kicked Edersons head off and they still swear it wasn't a red !!

I know!! Although I will say that Souness (and only Souness) is always really good. Presumably his wife is waiting for him with a rolling pin if he isn't.

Salah tried his best, feigning injury to get a red. Why he gets a free pass from the media when he has become one of the worst cheats in the league.
Watched it this morning on Sky. Highlights are 2 Liverpool chances and their goal and our goals. And pep having a go at 4th official and Konpanys tackle.
Nothing on our other chances or our penalty shout and the 2 to 3 fouls in the build up to their chance which is why Pep was furious.

Agree, although I would suggest they could get someone more pro City than Joleon. Great ex player but isn't what I would call blue through and through.
