Last Film You Saw

Mary Poppins Returns absolute shite fell asleep twice and I wasn’t the only one, someone woman behind me snoring her head off. 4/10

Well it gets off to a terrible start in the opening scene with the text explaining stuff. The new order or whatever they are called are said to "reign over the galaxy". Then the crawl right away say's "Snoke sends his merciless legions to take military control of the galaxy"...wait it doesn't stop there. The next paragraph states "rising tyranny" regarding the bad guys. So which is it, do they reign or not?

So right away this was a major warning about the film. The director and producer should be shot for this. Fuck Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson. Your agenda for feminism killed this film. Why the fuck does Laura Dern not explain her plan to her soldiers, just wtf, no way would this happen. Even when she is risking mutiny she says nothing? oh go fuck yourself. Fucking Leia flying back into the ship to show she has powers never to be seen again, in fact she spends the rest of the film doing nothing.

Rey is the ultimate Mary Sue, she is fantastic at everything, learns the force in a day, bests Skywalker in a lightsabre battle without having any battle training with them, then turns up at the end to save the day. All the men are shown to be incompetent fools whilst the women are all assured and cool. Now i am not some incel arsehole, far from it but just get to fuck ruining this franchise with your fucking bullshit. I would actually grab the director and slap his funny little face, the utter ****.

Every single thing in this film creates to many questions that never get answered. Abrams himself no master at a storyline at least set up Snoke to get a good back story, who is he, why does he want power etc etc. Doesn't matter, he dies easily.

Oh the fucking side story with that annoying cow and Finn. Are you fucking serious? they are riding those horse things literally laughing and having the time of their lives. The ham fisted way they portray everyone at the casino as cunts, what about the staff or slaves, do they all deserve to get run over by space horses to? War profiteering is a shitty way to pay the bills but they sold weapons to the resistance to so wtf. It is so simplistic and childish, i can't stand it.

Oh oh the fucking ending where she smashes his ship "we save what we love"... firstly you met him 12 hours ago, secondly you just doomed the resistance to death. She had no fucking idea Skywalker was on his way to help. She even kisses him as they blow the fucking doors off.

This is not a coherent rant or a complete one. I just had to get this off my chest. I bet that dumb fuck woman Kennedy gets sacked and Johnson, no way will they ever be trusted with a franchise of note again. If they are not then Disney can go and fuck it's self in the arse with a cattle prod.

tl;dr cunts used a loved franchise as a vehicle for their own personal agenda and killed the film in the process.

Bugger off you sod, i can't stand it. I am re-watching it again now out of incredulousness. It just makes no sense really. If you had it as some stand alone kind of thing you can kid yourself it is off the same shelf as stuff like Geostorm.

I have just seen the scene again where Poe asks what is going on, all he wants to know is the plan of action and there is nothing stopping her doing so. I should say i think Laura Dern is a great actress but she had nothing to work with at all, it is the character and writing that is bad. It is just full of contradictions, gaps to big in the film to assume what just happened off screen and ridiculous all round. You could write a book on the mistakes made in this film from back office production stuff to the actual film, it is just terrible.


Edit: Anther that really had me "WTF'ing" was the surface cannons bit. Fucking convenient a star destroyer thing suddenly has no shields. Shields that have been well establishes in the Star Wars universe.

I Daniel Blake, really enjoyable and great insight to what some folk have to go through, throughly recomended, think should be on iplayer for anyone wanting to watch it
