Just heard that he died at only 49. Much too early to be gone. Lucas Radebe and Phil were great players at Leeds . RIP

I lived in South Africa for 25 years and he was absolutely massive there. I was lucky enough to go to Highbury in December 1995 to watch Arsenal V Leeds when he scored 2 goals in a 3-1 win for Leeds.

Reported that he was admitted to hospital a month ago after being diagnosed with cancer. Very sad - still a young man. Jesus these cancer deaths come thick and fast don't they? Too many recently too. RIP Phil Masinga.
