And she is, sometimes, when she talks to the media or on social media.

But over the past few months I've made a concerted effort to go out of my way to watch her in Parliament.

It's becoming obvious that she's a different politician when the lights are on compared to off. Any time she's in a high profile position or giving a speech that will be on the news, she goes into this odd character.

However for the day to day business of the House, she's exceptionally good. I wish we could see more of that woman because she's extremely competent, rational and impartial

I agree with most of that, although I've never hated her.
She does get absoulte fuckin dogs abuse, more than even May & Corbyn at times. And it's not just because of the position she holds either!

It might be because she says racist things? If a white politician would have said half of the things she says they'd be deselected and removed from every program on telly. May and Corbyn get a lot more stick than her as well, but they haven't got an angle to use to garner false sympathy from the public.

I believe she was wonderfully intelligent back in the day(must have been out at the time) but now when someone says on air she turns into Joey Essex.

We are allowed to take the piss out of him though.

Poor Joey.

Self awareness and the ability to laugh at one self is a fine trait. Diane Abbott a bit like Joey Essex but not quite as good. We are in agreement my forever biased friend.
 
A five minute piece on BBC breakfast, implying that the stick she gets is because she’s black. No ... its because she’s an utter simpleton.

For me , Corbyn loses any ounce of credibilty he had by having her in the shadow government
 
I’m wondering if she does have some kind of medical issue. I know she has diabetes but I’m thinking something beyond that. I watched her on question time and her hands appeared to be shaking when she was talking and being spoken to.
 
Thank god for the mental and physical health experts on here! There was me just thinking that she was just a fairly intelligent woman who came across a bit awkwardly on camera. Can’t recall a Shadow Home Secretary provoking so much ire previously, oddly.

Don't forget that she's obsessed with race if you're a Finnish nurse or a white mother and of course she wanted the IRA to beat the British. If she were any other colour than black she'd have been given the red card ages ago, as it is she's allowed to be a racist by certain members of todays political spectrum.
But yeah, it's all because she herself is black.

The point is she didn’t use to. I used to enjoy on This Week alongside Portillo.

As for her ‘lowly’ role, is she or is she not the second most high profile Labour MP and is she or is she not one of the main people put forward for media work?

As an aside, if she was white and had made comments regarding race towards non white people then I’m sure she’d have not only received similar ire, but seen her career ended.
