FA Cup 5th Round Draw 2019 - Newport (a)

I was quite young at the time I only vaguely remember it but did they say Huckerby was offside? Or am I getting 2 incidents mixed up? We got loads of goals disallowed back then for nothing. Do you remember Huckerby at Maine Road bending one in from the byline for the officials to say it had crossed the line when it hadn't? Think it may have been against Spurs & then Rebrov scored up the other end and won it.
Yeah he was offside despite the fact he went no where near it as Tiatto was fucking dribbling.

In the 80s they forgot to bring their kit to Maine Road so had to go to Old Trafford and borrow United’s and play against us in that.
Early 90s they knocked us out of both cup competitions in the same week with Paul Lake getting seriously injured.
Danny Tiatto scored a wonder goal against them with a dribble from our half and it was disallowed for nowt.
In one game we had something like 20 shots, 12 on target, hit the bar once, the post twice, had two cleared off the line, mullered them all game...they had no shots at all...Sun Jihai scored an own goal late on and they won 0-1.
The last game of the season when we had a penalty against them in the final seconds to get into the UEFA Cup and Fowler had it saved so Boro finished above us and got into the UEFA Cup instead and got all the way to the final the year after.
The 8-1 in Sven’s last game.
We were top of the Prem under Pellegrini and they were in the Championship, we had them at home in the Cup and they beat us 0-2.
Completely bossed a game against them and were 1-0 up and they equalised out of nowhere in the 92nd minute a few years ago.

Boro are up there with Wigan as our bogeyest of bogey teams!

We’ve played Wigan in a cup game 8 times and won just three. They took us to a replay in the League Cup in 1982 when they were in the third tier.
They knocked us out of the League Cup in 2002 when they were in the third tier.
They beat us in the FA Cup final when they got relegated in 2013.
They knocked us out of the FA Cup the season after when they were in the second tier.
And knocked us out of the FA Cup last season as a third tier club yet again.

Every cup draw I hope we avoid those two clubs more than even whoever are the top Prem sides at any time.

We won 2-0 in the FA Cup at their place a couple of yrs back.

Still fucking riled me that.

Yeah it was that one. Huckrrby wasn’t even interfering with play and was flagged offside. Twats!
Same as SWP’s back, it still pisses me off thinking about that, haha, it was a fine goal

We did indeed, but they still give me a twitch and a shiver at the thought of playing them or Wigan, no matter what division either of them are in.

Takes place on Monday at 19:20 GMT, during The One Show on BBC1.

Numbers have just been confirmed:

1) SWANSEA
2) AFC WIMBLEDON
3) SHREWSBURY OR WOLVES
4) MILLWALL
5) BRIGHTON OR WEST BROM
6) BRISTOL CITY
7) DERBY
8) DONCASTER
9) CHELSEA
10) WATFORD
11) MIDDLESBROUGH OR NEWPORT COUNTY
12) MANCHESTER CITY
13) BARNET OR BRENTFORD - (play on Monday)
14) PORTSMOUTH OR QPR
15) MANCHESTER UNITED
16) CRYSTAL PALACE

Plenty of decent draws possible. Some will want to smash United but think we have to keep it simple, given the fixture congestion coming our way.

Easy-ish draw at home would be best for fixture congestion, Doncaster as it stands.
