FA Cup 5th Round Draw 2019 - Newport (a)

Oh Ok so another one comes on to point out my error. Have you all had a talk and decided one post every half hour should see me into the funny farm ?

(Don't forget to insert smiley thing) :-)
Don't worry your little cotton socks musty. I know for a fact you have been to more games than many have had hot dinners on here mate; )

Got a few lads I work with from Newport and stayed over there a few times. Like a bigger version of Ashton Under Lyne.
They have a massive council estate built with a big perimeter fence around it with only a few exits, everyone is penned in (imagine the amount of incest going on).
Give the place it’s due though a great curry house not far from Rodney Parade called Vanilla Spice .
If we do get Newport get yourself into the Greyhound pub or The Scrum. It makes the Millstone pub in Northern Quarter seem posh.
As you can imagine it’s rife with Liverpool fans

I work in Newport, but I'm fortunate that I don't live there.
Yes it's a dump - a commercial town (now a city) with very little investment.
Loads of good curry houses though.
And alas, 'tis full of Liverpool fans as said.
Hoping to get them in the next round - will be a great event for this tiny club.

What do ya mean? The Millstone IS posh.

Just following on from my post yesterday, we played Newport in Division 2 in the first full post war season, 1946-47. Don't think we have played them since.

Last time we played Newport was October 62 League cup away won 2-1.

City went on to lose 6-0 to Birmingham two rounds later.

It was the final appearance of Steve Fleet in goals for City. Otherwise it appeared to be a full strength side.

True but i'm sure i can remember going to watch us play Newport County in a friendly at Somerton Park in the 80's.
Unless dementia has set in

After the Newcastle debacle the FA Cup and Carabao Cup have become top priorities.

The league has gone and we always fail in the Chumps because of our shite defending.

Don't think we should write off the league just yet after last night's results. Keep going on all fronts in the hope that at least one of them turns into silverware (and hopefully more than one).

How hard is it to choose 7 ties out of 8 for TV ... announce it already!

Given we have the full week off after Chelsea on Sunday ... we'd probably gladly take a Friday night game (we as in club, Pep and the team ... not so much the fans) ... given we have Champions League Away game in mid-week after (on Wed) ... so definitely not Sunday please as we could be travelling/training that day.
