Emiliano Sala - Cardiff suing Nantes for £100m - court hearing today (P25)

Not followed the whole thread, but has it been made known who ordered this plane/pilot for Sala? Or did he book it himself?

The agent turned down the cardiff plan to fly him over and went with that plane instead, the pilot seemed dodgy and the plane unsuitable,it took several goes to get it airbourne,i think a more responsible pilot wouldn't have attempted it

Don’t want to sound churlish but the football establishment seems to be going overboard in organising tributes to Salah. How many minutes silence, applause and black armbands do we need?

Couldn't agree more. It's becoming frankly embarrassing, the guy never played a minute of football in this country yet is being treated like he was part of England's WC 1966 team. Clearly it's a most unfortunate tragedy but it seems to be dragging on. Thing is, since the plane crashed, how many ordinary fans of teams in this country have died tragically young, from accidents. cancer, illness etc...people who had been going to games for years and contributed to football in this country...where is the minutes silence for them? Why are they any less deserving of public grief.
There was a fitting tribute last weekend at Cardiff's home game and that should have been the end of it.

Ok, so it was booked by Willie?

Been feeling this a bit anyway, no one had ever heard of the fella before, and suddenly we've even got mr bellend himself Warnock being OTT in his praise for the lad. Yes it's sad that he died, but way way over the top, we had a minute's silence last week, black armbands this week, can only presume flowers or perhaps a song next week?

Good article in Private Eye about chartered flights and pilots in regards to Sala's flight.

Have to agree with every word from Martin Samuel here:

“You bought Sala, Cardiff, so pay up
What clarification, exactly, do Cardiff need regarding their financial responsibility over Emiliano Sala? There is absolutely no question he was their player at the time of his death, no question that a transfer had been concluded, and no question of him being on a flight to Wales that night had he not been a Cardiff player.

It feels incongruous to cite the principles of material purchase but there are plenty of sales that are arranged by installment and if a car is written off, or stolen, 24 hours out of the showroom, it does not mean the transaction is void. Payments must still be met.

Yet Mehmet Dalman, Cardiff's chairman, is saying the club will pay if 'contractually obliged' and are seeking clarification on the issue. He even tried to appeal to the baser instincts of supporters.

'Surely you would expect me,' he asked, 'as the chairman and guardian of the club's interests to look into that, and hold our position?'

Not when the position is so transparent. A deal was done with Nantes and a terrible tragedy then took place on Cardiff's watch. To taint that further with an unseemly squabble about money — Nantes are taking legal action over the first due payment — would be contemptible.

Cardiff risk undoing the respect they have earned for their dignified, empathetic reaction to the tragedy. 'We are an honourable club,' said Dalman. Then act like it.”

Cardiff Chairman’s comments stink.

my mates know not to send me horrible stuff , I go fucking mad, think they are real pics, fucking horrible if true.

It appears Twitter have deleted any images, and a mixed reaction on there as to whether they are real or not, most saying they are,I mean I'm not saying people get a kick out of seeing things like this, others will be intrigued to see them I suppose, but all those on there saying whoever sharing them are wankers,I bet they had seen them though.

it seems the more horrible the more watched it becomes , and as everything is about likes its ok, that's why I don't do, face book, twitter or Instagram.

saw a pic of a body, and the recovery of the plane, the body doesn't look like anyone you can recognise ,sometimes people put extra pics in stuff on twitter or whatever to shock people
Just don,t get people who post shit like that,(seen i body years ago from some one who was lost at sea)The way the body pumps up/the skin is something you don,t want to see..
