Yeah they both look slow and ponderous. I agree, front 6 of Fernandinho, Gundogan, Bernardo, Sané, Sterling, Aguero would be good for the final.

I thought so too, having been booked it was a needless, stupid challenge to make.

I predicted at half time we'd get a red card, though I thought it would be for someone not already suspended for the 2nd leg.

They weren't the worst mistakes going but performances tonight will turn people off VAR big time, if this is a sign for things to come. At least they didn't rule out Sterling's goal for a slight nudge on the defender(standing his ground) before his winning goal or that would have really added insult to injury.

Perhaps Peter Walton has just revealed the real reason studio refs have been introduced in the last few seasons... they are there to tow the line UEFA's officials. They clearly made mistakes tonight but Walton was just doing his best impression of a politician, good points raised by the studio panel for every decision, wordy textbook replies that don't really answer the questions posed, to avoid criticising the VAR decisions.

The likes of Walton are not there to tow UEFA’s line, he’s there to explain away the bent decisions that BT show, whatever the competition

Today confirms why we have to stop booing the Champions League Anthem. It just gets UFFA's backs up before a ball has been kicked. Now they have VAR to use as a weapon against us.

They were looking for any reason to rule out our 1st goal. Then their 1st penalty was never going to go our way despite Otamendi trying to get his arm out of the way.

You surmise that a few people booing have caused this?
Do you also think they caused FFP, fines for sarcasm, the manager being banned, fines for kicking off late?
