League Cup Final Post - Match Thread

Oh dear, how sad, never mind....

Not at our best and the Chavs gave us plenty of respect with their team selection and formation , not a very good game and not a lot of quality from either side , Chelsea know they can't go toe to toe with us , thought our defence was solid , Zinchenko was outstanding but our creative players Bernardo, merlin and KDB were not at the races , but we still won another trophy :)

I said after the Schalke game that criticism would be out place.
Same applies to this game.
Great character shown by the boys when again every major decision went against us.
Haven't seen VAR again on the Aguero disallowed goal but it looked onside. Second there was a double foul by their full back ( following an advantage played) which only received one yellow card and the Jorginho blatant stop on Sterling when there is no doubt he ( Sterling) was the last man.
The incident involving a possible elbow was never replayed on Sky. Nor did they make any comment on the other decisions that went Chelsea's way. It was all about a good dogged performance by Chelsea who played well with no reference to the help they got from the Ref.
And so one more time.
Are we human?
OR ARE WE CITY!
yeah var is only used when it suits

Bernardo was excellent

Congratulations to the team, and all involved. Thought this wasn’t our day and happy to be proven wrong

I had that kind of feeling as the second half wore on, our players have a lot of heart and desire to go with their quality.

Love it. Hope the injuries aren’t as serious as they look. Fingers crossed Stones and Jesus are almost ready to step back in.

Sterling has got to be the first name on the team sheet, sometimes still forget he's only 24! To step up when it really matters like that speaks volumes of how far he's come, world class, so happy for him and I think he's a really humble lad to go with it

Replay was very close. It looked like Kun's body (the back of it) was offside but his feet were on. Very marginal and difficult decision -- couldn't fault it either way even with VAR.

Feel utterly knackered after that, pretty sure supporting city should come with a health warning.
Great result against a difficult Chelsea set up to frustrate. Zinchenko, Otta and Bernie all played excellent.
Bit worried about Fern and Eric as we are looking a bit threadbare now in defense with injuries also to Stones as well. Anyway thats for another day, today belongs to celebrating retaining the three handled pot. We love you city we do !

such a hard watch but well played and

we fight to the pen's
we fight to the pen's

this is city
we fight and win at the pen's

Buzzing! We will never have a better chance at the quadruple imo. Still a long shot but can be done.
