Match Thread | Man City vs West Ham (27/02/19)

Started really well with quick, crisp passing but then lost our way a bit. KDB and Mahrez seemed to be having a competition as to who could give the ball away more at times. Surprised we didn't try switching Sane and Mahrez over at some stage.

Sort out our final ball and we should win this.
 
I dont see how people can say its been an awful attacking display, unless they are referring to finishing only. We have had multiple clear chances to score,4-5 at least. Towards the end we were tailing off, our own fault for not taking the early chances and ending the game inside first 10min
 
Give Mahrez a break FFS. The guy hardly ever gets a game or even time as a sub. No surprise he's rusty. Sure I'm not his biggest fan either as I think he lacks the quality needed for this City team. The main worry for me is the form of Dave and KBD. Those two can carry the team by themselves, but they've both been waaaay off the mark for weeks.

At what point does the injury stop being an excuse though? Or rust? He has been fit for quite a while and has had more than enough matches to get up to match fitness and shake off any rust. And he's still off-color. Forget about reaching last season's heights. He is playing like a scrub at the moment. He just needs to get back to a decent level.

At the moment, he and Silva (the 2 best players last season, probably) are both struggling. It's difficult to be as dominant when both have bad games. And recently, they're both having bad games at the same time.
