Why haven't we named more of our stands after former legends?

We could call the family stand "the kinky stand"as it'll upset the bbc and the South stand "the bluemoon stand", due to there being a similar lack of atmosphere....

Aguero and David Silva both still playing, must be future candidates. Who knows, Pep might be too, especially if he guides us to a first Champions League.

From the past, Bert Trautmann, Frank Swift, Skip, Joe Mercer - too many to choose from. You might have to name stand sections!

Didn't Bell End come up at some point and get refused like Boaty McBoatface? Or was that a myth?
It was suggested when the club decided to name a stand after him by the Sunday Sport so they could use a witty line involving the then Newcastle striker Brian Pinas.

"Pinas lobs Seamen from Bell End"

Why not name other parts of the ground after managers like The Alan Ball Shitters. Howard Kendall Bar etc?

Originally supporters clubs were asked to nominate and Joe Mercer was the clear winner. Then, for reasons best known only to the board, they decided to do an online vote to get a wider opinion - and so all the rags jumped on board and voted to have the Colin Bell End as the winner, ignoring the fact that the stand wasn't one of the two ends.... and so Colin Bell won the vote.
