Think its better in here than clogging the other thread up.
Do we know why the SC allocation was increased to 20% as this more than anything has reduced the available tickets for those on loyalty points; it certainly wasn't highlighted by the club and diminished the value of paying for Platinum. Guessing the Corporate allocation has increased too!!
You’re asking the wrong person as I’ve never really taken much interest in SC tickets until relatively recently but my guess would be that it was pre-takeover when away games weren’t as in demand as they are now. Prices were a lot higher, the football wasn’t as good as it is and we certainly didn’t have loads of hospitality seasoncard holders. So it was probably easier to shift them through supporters’ clubs. Like I said, I’m only guessing. The more I think about it though, the more I think that maybe the club somehow feels more confident about the distribution of SC tickets than those sold via the points system. That might explain why they seem to have some big hang-ups about the points system.Apologies, I thought someone had said it was about 6 years ago, which was after the introduction of Platinum. If indeed it was pre-takeover then given our success and the high demand for tickets surely now it would be more appropriate to reduce their allocation and allow tickets to be sold based on an individual's purchase history?

Edit: That doesn’t mean to say I think they’re right to be more confident about that before everyone jumps down my throat!
Which is precisely what they’re trying to do.Well if that is the case (that the club are more confident re SC tickets) then why not tighten up on the tickets sold via the points system allocation? Their lack of confidence in their own system shouldn't be a reason for tickets not going to fans that have attended the most matches.
Which is precisely what they’re trying to do.
It would certainly make a far better case for the points system if it could be clearly shown to be working in the interests of those it’s supposed to serve. But that point may be 3 seasons away.So by that token then there should be no reason why more tickets shouldn't be allocated via the points system!

No. There's other things being proposed and you're clearly another that's too lazy to read the thread and expects to be spoonfed on demand. Sorry but I've got better things to do.So in the meantime they're going to stop points for away matches and therefore maintaining the status quo, rather than just ensuring that tickets are used by the purchaser?!
Thanks for that. Apart from the ballot itself, that seems to incorporate everything most people are asking for. Fairness and transparency.https://www.manutd.com/europeanaway
I hate to say it - but away tickets are where that other lot do things better than City. (On transparency at least).
I think fans would benefit on knowing where they stand in the pecking order, which United's communication clarifies.
I usually base my thinking on the points criterion, which is often, but not always, an indication of when a match will sell out.
It would save people extra cost on potentially wasted transport and accommodation costs as they would better be able to judge the risks.
Simple information on how many are at each points level and how many are on cup schemes would be beneficial, imho.

So on that basis, if you’ve applied for only 8 games in the last 3 seasons you’re in a bunch on less than 2000
And it’s on appliacations, not just successful ones. Benefits those who keep trying.
