had a similar situation, had the same advice as posted on here. Two things, first one was the blood that was created, spread everywhere, would suggest copious amounts of polythene sheets to confine it, secondly, what to do with the body parts when removed, I had to wrap with "black bags" which meant virtually every part ended up as part of the foundations. Goggles and a dusk mask obvs, big knives and chainsaw are optional :)

There should be a lintel above both the window and the door supporting the brick.

Sorry mate but the doors really do not have any structural use whatsoeverHave not read previous posts so please excuse if already said. First of all check for/what type of lintels are in place, should be concrete or steel depending on age of house, remember to check for suitable bearing on each end( 150mm is ok), if that is the case then easy job, just remove doors and make good.If house is victorian then probs just wood and arched brick over which is bad news as this is not suitable once doors are removed, if you do need to install lintels over then you should get building regs. This is easily done by applying for a building notice online on your council website(prob cost around £120+vat) and a building control officer will check work and issue certificate on completion, this is crucial if you sell soon as work could be flagged up on buyers survey and retro building regs are far more trouble/expensive to obtain. Any proper builder you hire to carry out the work will handle the builing regs side for you.If you do have to fit new lintels then you may consider taking the opportunity of widening the opening while you are at it.
Whatever you do, dont cut corners and if you dont know any builders yourself ask freinds/family who might have used someone reliable and good, and good luck with it.
