Yes we should have won tonight but on reflection Sunday is a massive game and if we win then and we can beat spuds on Wednesday we’re through it’s a massive two games coming up we can do it.

You say that, but avoiding getting blitzed isn't in this team's DNA. Opposing teams try and avoid getting blitzed by us don't they ??
You have to see this in the scheme of chasing four trophies. If we were 10’points ahead in the league it might have been different.

Judge this result next Wednesday. I thought we played well and were very unlucky.

It's HT and we were a save away from an away goal and taking the lead.
The whole game would have had a different complexion if that had gone in.
If Gundo had taken the Pen and missed people would have been up in arms that Sergio didn't take it!

We are more than capable of turning around a 1-0 deficit at home.

And it's not like we haven't Won the League Cup, are in the FA Cup Final and we are 6 PL wins off retaining the PL Title!

What a shit season! Pep is clueless! Bring back Hughes!
If we beat Palace on Sunday and turn this tie around next Wednesday the sentiment will all change.

That said Peps strategy and selection was totally wrong.

Any team that hopes to win the CL should have the ability to turn around a 1 goal defeat at home in the second leg.

Not picking the strongest team in every game because they will tire and end up dropping points in the league, which is the number 1 priority.
Ok well if that is the plan the club should let us know.before fans spunk hard earned money on the champions league games, they should say lads and lasses we aren't really arsed in the champions league the Prem is our number 1 priority

He didn't want to use De Bruyne or Sane tonight because I'm almost 100% certain they're both starting in the more important game vs Palace. I was surprised they came on at all in the end./QUOTE]
My quote which pep uses ALL the time the next match is as far as he plans for.. Could he not have played tonights team v palace and the better team Sane, kev tonight .

Agree we unlucky but we did not play well. Never worked Lloris

But if we had won 1-0 from that penalty everyone would have said he got it right and preserved KDB and Sane for Sunday!
It was always going to be a tougher game than people expected, we walk away 1-0 down and that is not the end of the tie whatsoever.

Bring on Palace Sunday.

There are different types of one goal defeat though. This is the worst kind and we left ourselves vulnerable to it.

The sense of entitlement of some newbie blues is absurd.

We can’t win every game you clowns and real football isnt PlayStation football you cant just play your best team game after game.

Pep picked the right team tonight and we’re bang in the tie and still favourites to progress

Did any blues who were there see what happened with that pitch invader. It looked as though delphy was about to confront him before the camera panned away
Season ticket holder in division 2 mate and if you think pep picked the best team tonight you are sorely mistaken

I know the rules have changed but I don't think that should have been a penalty, the miss might have even affected us negatively too if anything. Would have preferred Kane stayed uninjured, Delph was not at fault for that either way but I don't want any excuses if/when we turn the tie around at home.
Delph was most certainly at fault, initially he gave Son too much room, secondly he thought the ball was going out of play, and when Son brought it back he did nothing to block the shot and I think he was half appealing too

I thought we were pretty average, as were Spurs. We didn't play to our strengths and gave them a much easier game than they would have expected. We'll most likely have to expend more energy next week than we would if we had played to our potential this evening. Same happened in the CL last season and also in his last season at Bayern. Strange team selections that lead to poor results. We haven't left ourselves as much to do this season as last, but it's still going to be very tough. We won't be able to relax if we're 2 up. We'll most likely need at least 3, and goals haven't exactly been flowing recently.

But if we'd scored the penalty, it would have actually have made sense to play out the game in the manner we did. We didn't score it though.
