Why we will win the league!

Ajax has much better chances of making it than you do.
If I remember it right, we went with a much weaker team than the current one and beat a much better Barca than the current one at Camp Nou, the only English team to beat them away in recent past I guess? Though to Wenger's credit he also beat them at Emirates.

Enthralling encounter surely and to be honest, am more confident of beating Barca in a two legged tie than winning the league..

We now have five straight league games with no distractions so you can say we are better placed than Liverpool to win it as they have a tough CL semi to deal with. Win Saturday and last night will be forgotten (at least by me as I'll wipe it from my memory).

Be interesting to see Liverpool Vs Barca, Barca are clearly a more polished version of how we play. Liverpool will won't give Barca a second on the ball and I can see Mane bagging a few.

Fair enough. I have to confess I'm too young to remember the last time you beat Barcelona.

Pep needs to earn his corn over the next couple of days and pick those players up. I think we will beat spurs as they looked fucked at the end but they will be on a high after tonight
I honestly don't think they will need it - We played really well and left it all out on the field - no need to be down.

Strongest team possible (fitness permitting).........

Liverpool now have 2 fixtures against Barcelona on the 1st and 7th May. I think they will drop points in the league still and we will go on to win every game.

I don't think they will. We needed them to drop points against Spurs or Chelsea which they would have if it wasn't for yet another clanger from a keeper and Hazard missing chances he usually takes. We have to work on the assumption that they'll win every game which means we have to win all of ours. With no distractions, as long as Pep can get them refocused and not let the CL exit affect their performances then I'm confident we'll do it.

The fixture guessing game never works. City always drop points against the 'lesser' clubs (see December) and the dippers have draws against them too this season.

Those losses were anomalies imo. In the three games we lost by a singular goal, Palace and Newcastle both had penalties, and Townsend and Pereira both scored worldies. Also, a big reason we lost those games was using Delph at LB and Stones at DM which won't happen again this season.

I think Liverpool will smash Huddersfield and Newcastle because the former is already relegated and the latter will almost certainly be safe by then. Cardiff could be tricky because they're at home and are fighting against relegation but they're also not very good. Wolves can cause problems and they might need a result to secure a Europa League place but if Liverpool need to beat them on the last day of the season to win the league then I think they would, especially at home.

As you say, unpredictable results can happen, I just feel that we'll need to win all five to be champions and for what it's worth I think we will.

anyways, this exit has given a walkover for u lot in the league.. Spurs dont have anything left in the tank.. united would rather relgate themselves than putting up a show against you guys that would benefit us.. rest three, hardly any banana skin fixtures.. in a way if you see thru an out of gas Spurs for the weekend, you have a hand on trophy, the league ie.
You need your recent silver allergy to wear off to have a chance of lifting big ears.. if we win the league it will be sweet.. to think, you could have been 10 clear ;-)

Whilst I’m not trying to be argumentative, the team that lost to Newcastle had Danilo at left back and Fernandinho at defensive mid. He gave the penalty away, if you remember. In fact, the team that lost to Newcastle was the exact team that many on BM said we should have picked away, at Spurs, last week. Which all just goes to prove that football, far from being a science based thing, really is a funny old game......

The Newcastle mention was due to the point I made about needing a penalty to beat us.

Fair enough. Like I said, I wasn’t being argumentative it’s just that the media love to say that we only lose without Fernandinho, that’s all.
Yeah it's fine I know you weren't. If I recall correctly, Stones only started in midfield against Palace and Delph only started against Palace and Leicester. I was just grouping the three losses together to make a few different points.
