Womens FA Cup Final WINNERS 3-0, May 4th v West Ham

Not long back from it.

Thought we played OK first half, bit slow, and looked vulnerable to a break/ball over the top, but we had a period even then of about 15-20 minutes, where we made them chase shadows, and it was clear it would tell eventually. I thought our movement wasn't good enough, and we looked a bit nervous at times.

Second half we had total control of the ball, and made them work for the very little possession they had. We were sat right behind the goal, and didn't appreciate just how far out Keira was for the first, the keeper certainly should have done better, but it got a very strange dip in front of her, and I don't think she saw it initially. It took a while to put it to bed, but West Ham were done immediately (one break apart). The second was lovely football, perhaps a bit fortunate with the deflection, and the third was just quality.

Well done ladies thoroughly deserved, now beat the champions away, and stay unbeaten domestically. Also well done West Ham on getting there, an achievement in what is their season at this level.

Great turn out of blues, we were outnumbered (lots of local girls/women's teams), but great support for City.

Oh and Bardsleys save was incredible, from right behind it, we all thought it was in.

Despite only being around for one season they are the founders of women’s football in the UK. The amount of media coverage that United women have received is ridiculous. It’ll notch up even higher next year.

Having been at every one of our 'new' women's seasons, today's coverage was annoying. It seemed like West Ham and City got in the way of a 2hr discussion about united.

Also, Pearce should be nowhere near the world cup commentary

I think it's horrible the way they drag players away from celebrations to ask them inane fucking questions.

Completely agree, the more so in that nobody normally constituted can say anything cogent or coherent when they've just been out on a pitch (or an athletics track, or whatever) giving it absolutely everything they've got. I suspect that they're contractually obliged to do these pieces of foolishness. I'd just tell the reporter to fuck off (well, slightly more euphemistic, given that it's on the telly) and go back to my mates.

Didnt Micah pretty much do that after the Final against Stoke??

Only watched the second half ( clashed with the tour of Yorkshire!! )
Thought City played very well, that young lass that came on as sub and scored the 3rd looks the real deal.
My only worry was City ladies seemed to be ref'd the same as the men ! Thought we had a clear pen , commentary team didn't say much about it , and I get the feeling the ladies game will now go the same as the mens ....all about utd....which will be a shame as up to now it's been refreshing to watch a football match and not have the commenters going on about utd but it will creep in.

They will now be utd this utd that but in reality utd have been pulled kicking and screaming into the ladies game, utd didn't want a ladies team just that nearly every men club has a ladies team. So to stop them being embarrassed they formed a team, and of course the press will be all over them which will be sad for the ladies game

PS I was watching bbc

Also enjoyed this match but the relentless references to United (who only started their team this year) did annoy me. That said the Derby match next season will be great. I wonder if we will use our main stadium. If marketed properly it could produce a huge attendance.

First half was very cautious and low key but in the second half City were way too good for them though up front our girls seemed to be very tentative at times even then. In goal Karen seemed very cool and a reassuring presence - rather like Eddie! For me Steph was the best player on the pitch and deserved the PotM award. Excellent viewing. Well done, girls!

Thought we were too cautious first half, but a very good second half. Well done, ladies. Another trophy.

A big well done to ALL players and staff involved with our women's team. Not just winning but the way you played....a credit to our club.

I don't think it was a coincidence that Phil Neville gets appointed and then we have a United women's team. It would have been too embarrassing for them.
