I suspect the process is private and confidential (in theory).

We already know that LFC have been petitioning the Premier League and encouraging other clubs to demand that the Premier League takes action against City. We know something of how FFP was formulated and which clubs and organisations were involved. We know who sits on the committees and the connections these people have with other clubs, but we have a media whose political priority and inclination are opposed to Arab oligarchs. They are blinded of course to history, division of the world, and their own state. In short City will never receive a fair public discussion and by now you should have realised that. There is no point raising the topic. Every time we do, we'll just face a concerted wall of propaganda.

Even if UEFA know they do not have a leg to stand on, who is calling them to account? At the worst CAS throw their case out. But at least they tried their best to clean up the game. When you listen to the likes of Tebas speak about City, you realise that the practicalities and technicalities are completely irrelevant for now anyway. They may become relevant at the later judicial process but even then I wouldn't rely on it.

Of course I have realised that but the club has bent over backwards to do everything the right way and are still getting battered. I prefer the analogy of appeasing a bully, eventually you will have to deal with him or he will just continue making your life a misery. The problem we have is the people who run the media, we will never get a fair say or hearing there so the hearts and minds battle is lost unless we make inroads into it.

We never will be. Our owner is an Arab Sheikh. This world is divided economically and ideologically and football is not a bubble

I understand, there is no way there can be anything independent about this board/panel. Uefa is filed with members with affiliations to the big clubs. Passing allegiance and bias off as “experience of the game”. There will never be a fair system unless it hits a really court.

I find it hilarious that Milan are getting fucked by FFP when they lobbied for it hahahahaha

Platini:

I spoke with some people like Silvio Berlusconi [owner, AC Milan], like Massimo Moratti [owner, Inter Milan], that were putting €100 million in every year, they said, ‘Michel, put regulation because we can’t pay more, it is finished.’

Fuckin gold lol

So war it is......Finally. I've had a gutful of UEFA and those supposed historic "big" clubs and their entitled bullshit. Same with all the fuckhead fans of those clubs.

I've never read a club statement that emphatic, which basically reads as a fuck you to UEFA in legal terms.

Hope we go with both barrels at them from here.
What do you expect City to say? Guilty as charged.

city have been impotent from day 1. It's not about professionalism, state of mind etc, it's about whether there is an audience for your argument. There is not. You should have worked that out by now.

This assumes that City are really owned by the UAE. In reality we are owned by one Sheikh from Abu Dhabi and there are hundreds of Sheikhs and members of their ruling family. He may have co-opted important advisers of the UAE administration to oversee his running of City, but that does not mean that City are the UAE. It was a big mistake by some fans to think that that was the case and we really should have dispelled that thought at the outset.

I'm not assuming City are the UAE but Mansour is a very powerful person there. He can make some calls.

And Karen7 is right. you mention Blackpool, their boycott was about how their club was being destroyed by the owner. NO City fan has a problem with how we are run or who runs it. Why not fill the stadium and boo the bastard jingle and then cheer the lads on for 90 minutes.... but all the time have huge banners that simply tel UeFa to do one.
What you should have said is " in my opinion Karen7 is right."

You have completely missed the point.
Our owners have been amazing.

UEFA and its sponsor want and need full stadiums to sell their tarnished product around the world.....why spend YOUR money to give them what they want.
WE will never be allowed to win their tournament.....did you see the VAR angle THEY chose to show ref versus Tottenham?

I love the club's statement. Shows real intent to not get pushed around anymore.

The only concerns I have going forward is UEFA's idea of an independent panel doesn't quite fit within the true definition. I expect it to comprise of Tebas, Rummenigge, Gill, Parry et al. So this will be dragged out further than is absolutely necessary when the club take it further. Just gives the media an excuse to continue to tarnish our name and drag us through the mud.

Reading between the lines and the way things have been leaked to the press, does anyone else think UEFA are hoping City destroy FFP in court
I wonder how much its costing UEFA to monitor it etc
UEFA have a legitimate reason to drop it if we can prove its a scam
I mean going off whats been said with regards to the leaks and it putting City in a strong legal position from the off makes me wonder, nothing would surprise me with Uefa

That club statement makes me a lot more confident.

Like the club says, we just need an 'independent' panel.

I think it was always the problem - any attempt at a ban will go to court. If the evidence won't stand up in court, UEFA have to weigh up the pros of trying it against the cons of potentially having it fail and put a big hole in FFP regulations.

I don't envy them that position, with various attempts to influence them going on.

God you talk some bollocks. There is a lot of room between "guilty as charged" and the statement City made.

The bullish approach to City's statement tells e all I need to know, there's not a chance we miss a game to any ban as City will not take a pinch again. They are sure they have irrefutable evidence and are looking forward to getting a day in a real court (of which CAS is one).

Fuck the audience, that doesn't come into it where the Law is concerned.

Surprised the investigators leaked it to the press as it gives City an opening to attack not just the process but the motivation behind it. Should have kept it in house although the leak does reduce the chance for a negotiated settlement and make open conflict more likely which may have been the thinking behind the leak.

The ‘recommendation’ of a one year CL ban in the leak is also odd. One year is a blip. Three years would have been serious. One year sounds like chancing your arm on the punishment rather than bringing solid evidence for a more meaningful ban. Plus it’s going to get bartered down. You always build some ‘fat’ into the opening gambit.

We don't know who leaked it. I suspect it isn't the IC committee members, but is more likely to be a random staff member who knows something of what is happening.

No doubt in my mind that Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansour are going to ensure the correct people are in place to battle this the whole way, I know where my confidence is.

I hope we wipe the floor with them.

The problem is that City already penalized by Uefa before.

City’s response is pretty emphatic in that we are effectively telling UEFA that your process is deeply flawed and we’ll see you in court.

The most interesting thing today though is UEFA’s statement referring to matters “that we’re made public in various media outlets”.

They are saying they had an investigation based entirely on the information in der Spiegel and elsewhere. Have they been provided with additional evidence? Do they have the emails that der Spiegel referred in their articles? If not then the whole process seems ridiculous.

It is interesting that UEFA have reiterated the point that the investigation started because of “matters that were made public in various media outlets”. It’s almost as if they are diverting any speculation that persons connected to clubs in the cartel might have been behind it.

We were pretty confident last time and they moved the goal posts. It seems they are purely using hacked material and are still pressing ahead despite us showing them all our legitimate documents and evidence

We are being stitched up
Totally agree mate. I love the clubs recent statements but I can only see us getting fucked over in the end. Hope I am proved wrong.
