I suspect he's right about there being owner investment of one kind or another with the sponsorship - though even here UEFA have a problem because they can't take issue with Etihad stating that they were responsible for the sponsorship payment.

I agree. I think this was also part of PB's view.

The BBC are the most anti City outlet of them all .....just read their website on match days

I did say watching the 6 o'clock news. Nothing about their website or their sh1te coverage of football.

I don't watch either ITV or C4 news as I feel that they tend to dumb down their reporting. A bit like someone reading the Sun to you. This is a very personal view and I would not want to spend 60 pages discussing it thank you. Life is to short. :)

He will answer questions on this.

Incidentally, it might have escaped the attention. Our statement already outlines we expect to be found guilty now before it goes to CAS.

We are calling Uefa's bluff and threatening them in equal measure.

I also believe we have previously raised our issues with some of the individuals involved in this whole sorry mess.

People will be financially ruined when the final punch is thrown :)

Gloves off now. Worst that can happen to us is a season C L ban. Don't overestimate this - it would be over in a flash. Reputational damage? Yeah, tell Juve about it.

Worst that can happen to UEFA is damage lasting years if not terminal. Sit back and enjoy the ride lads and lasses.

From the day Gill or whoever dreamt this up, this was inevitable. Glad we’re finally entering the end game. UEFA are about to find out what happens when you let influences outside your own organisation dictate policy.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.

Come on guys. Who the f..k is this guy really? Cannot understand why you bother to read such drivel.

I don't have tw@ter, don't buy or read newspapers, don't follow any media on Facebook and I feel much better for it. The media only tell you what they want you to know. I get my news from watching the 6 o'clock news and R4. I like to think I am integillent enough to know crap when I hear it. Most of the time the BBC News is fair and unbiased. Note I said 'most of the time'. I strongly advise most of you on here to do the same.

By clicking on links, following on Tw@ter, Faceache etc all you do is encourage them to carry on.

Know your enemy. ;)

Glad you are 'integillent' ;) You will therefore understand that negativity from liars on Social Media can impact what people think, especially non-City fans, who lap up the BS.

I’m guessing once the ban is imposed we will go into an independent court and have it removed, so whilst it will be issued it won’t be served because I have absolutely no doubt that we will be successful in appeal/new court case.

I just really fucking hope that we expose these cnuts whilst defending ourselves and clearing our name.

I don’t just want us out of the shit storm that is currently being created I want uefa done and dusted and being carted off in a black bag when all is said and done.

Maybe we instigated the leaks, we have a mole inside the camp, we want this to happen
Nah. It is quite common someone at UEFA leaks things. Either because they don't really care as no one is contesting them, either to further their agenda of smear campaign.

But this is not the only time FFP things leak, especially by that Tariq Panja.

Hi,

Please don't ban me as this is my first post and I'm just interested to get some answers. I came on here this morning as obviously we've all seen the news and I wanted to gauge what the average City fans reaction is.

Now (here comes the part where I fear I'll be banned) it seems that looking at the club from the outside there's obvious "financial doping" going on. I can't see how City could have achieved this much success in such a short space of time without it.

So, I am just wondering where the thoughts that UEFA have an agenda against City are coming from? I understand the opinion that FFP caters to the established big teams and ensures that they remain that way, but aside from that, I can't see what other reason there is to be angry? Surely UEFA are investigating/bringing charges for a reason other than they just don't like City.

They wouldn't just be looking into the club for no reason either, right? There's no smoke without fire & all that?

Apologies for signing up just to ask a simple questions but I know no City fans personally and there's no chance of getting sense out of anyone on Twitter etc

Even breaking it down to the most simple terms, as I (the average, not massively invested football fan) see it, City agreed to play by certain rules and have essentially broken or attempted to break those rules. Is this correct?

Again, please don't ban me for this. I'm just a confused neutral with no idea what's going on!

Thanks

Quite right - but I suspect it's the first time someone has by implication threatened to use those leaks in order to crash the whole disciplinary system. Others could have in that past, including PSG. That it's City who are doing so indicates just how far gone this relationship is.

Do I remember rightly or not , that after the Bosman ruling, uefa were told that the ‘football is different’ argument was not going to be accepted and that they were not above the rule of law, just because they thought that they were?

You remember perfectly. The ECJ were more than a little irritated when told that the matter was no business of the courts and that UEFA was the competent body on football matters. They were told in no uncertain terms that any cases referred to them would be decided according to the law and not to UEFA's views on what constituted the best interests of football. The argument that the court then made a "sporting exception" to allow a transfer market is also without foundation - the court simply decreed that a player could be made to honour his contract for its duration but that he became a free agent when it expired.

Explain what you mean by 'Financial Doping'?

Please explain what you think financial doping is. It is such a vague phrase that I am not sure we can have a sensible discussion until we know what you mean by that.

It is not a phrase you will find within any UEFA regulations.

EDIT: **nods to Groke**

What I mean by "financial doping" is that, from looking from the outside it would seem that the club has been spending disproportionately relative to it's earnings over the last 10 years or so. As I said I'm not particularly clued up on this and was just looking for some answers from sensible people who are interested in actually discussing the topic rather than throwing out childish insults. I should have known better.

If you read through the thread (and other threads on the site), there is plenty material to joyfully digest.

That is if you are genuinely interested.

Who do you support?

Financial doping is where you're punished for what every other big club pre-2008 have done.
