There is so much negativity in this thread.

Let’s be positive.

Here’s what Jonathan Northcroft has written in The Sunday Times:

“Manchester City have....surely the status of greatest side the domestic game has seen. Having numbed the Premier Leaugue with their brilliance they turned the old FA Cup final into an exhibition game.
The novelty is in the technicality, the choreography, the relentless mentality of Pep Guardiola’s team. All are at levels never previously seen. Here, as goal upon goal rained in, all you could think was wow”

That’ll do for me.

Now turn to page 5 and read his article about "a nation's heart". Or see my previous post.

this is correct, but there also needs to be a professional courtesy between the interviewer and interviewee. the question was asked to deflect away from a career defining moment for our manager and historical moment for the club and fans. dont fall into the trap pf believing harris was asking the question for any other reason than incitement.
I criticised him elsewhere but at the same time I want it clear that we don't want or expect sycophants. We want every football club to be held to account and that's the job of regulators and the media, however what is evident is that our football club is being targeted and that should be the bigger story now.

Wait until Saudi take over the rags at some point. The reporters will be in a pickle then.
Man Utd are already sponsored by Saudi Telecom. Saudi Telecom is largely owned by the Saudi state through its Public Investment Fund. They also have a strategic partnership with the Sports authority of Saudi Arabia. Arsenal have a sponsorship agreement with Rwanda. Leicester, former Premier League winners are owned by a family closely linked to the Thai military/monarchist regime etc etc. Only City are subjected to criticism. There are a small number of journalists eg David Conn who has looked at Usmanov (once of Arsenal, now Everton?) but few and far between. He is an honourable exception.

The bottom line is

1) Our owners are Arab billionaires not American, or European, and
2) They are rivals to Man Utd and Liverpool etc

Hence this is a populist witch-hunt

Has anyone checked on Baldy Castles? Hope he's ok.

Yes!

He’s just dropped his guard again.

This, along with a picture of Sheikh Mansour.

He’s hurting badly, poor baldy Rag.

A unique insight into Abu Dhabi’s ownership of Manchester City. Why a gulf state bought an English football club - a Transfer Window exclusive with

And that's the problem. It isn't for a second that questions shouldn't be asked about City, it's that it is only City that ever get it. The gushing that followed the Leicester owners death is perhaps unsurprising in itself, but no one, absolutely no one, raised the connection with the Thai military dictatorship.

Journalists scream whataboutery when this gets brought up, but the lack of the wider context is a fair criticism of them and they hate it. Likewise, not a single one of them considers when they talk about sportwashing that they didn't write a thing about the UAE before City were bought, not a single word. Their entire premise is misplaced on the one hand, and their hypocrisy prior to it is striking on the other.

And lastly, for all the valid criticisms that can be levelled, it's the UAE, it's not fucking North Korea.

That has to be one of the most idiotic takes circulating today, and that is quite the distinction given the immense competition!

It's that bitter dipper twat Murphy. We shouldn't expect anything less.

The concept of Kev having an injury ravaged season and only just returning to fitness thereby having his game time managed seems to be beyond the comprehension of this snot slime.
