Europa League Final. Arsenal vs. Chelsea. 29/5/19.

Funny how the media have changed the narrative about how much it cost to travel

If this was a champions league final in Baku would they still not bother going?

UEFA the champions of justice and fairness have managed to organise a final in Azerbaijan. However, we are the dirty oil club who needs punishing. Then there is Arsenal who’s player is persecuted from participating but they don’t refuse to play in Baku. However, we are the club that is corrupted by investment and should be booted from the competition.

They signed up to the competition to start with... you can’t just change your mind!

Yes you can, but it takes guts to stand up to something that isn't right, even if it costs you money and a trophy. One of their star players is afraid to play, with good reason judging by the police's reaction to fans just having his name on their shirt, then you need to take a stand.

Then don’t sign up in the first place?

Two things wrong there. One they probably didn't envisage getting to the final when they started,. Two once it looked like they would, only then did they start to realise the logistical and political nightmare playing there would be. Concerns were raised but as usual the UEFA bullies ignored those concerns and said it was happening. A final that fan's, the lifeblood of the game can't get too and a final a star player is too scared to play in is just plain wrong.
